MUFC Stretford Ender, away days, ground hopper. Love cricket, apes, history of WW2. Often found watching, playing, coaching or writing about sport. #lovetrees🌳
57 years today since Planet of the Apes first got its stinking paws on British cinema screens! Here everyone's favourite chimp, Roddy McDowall, clowns around with Carol Burnett before sharing an awesome home movie of his make-up being applied. 🐵💄
The FA agreed to scrap FA Cup replays because of “expanded European” demands on seven elite Premier League clubs who don’t enter the Cup until the third round anyway, have big squads and some will go on post-season tours or to the Fifa Club World Cup. Such a senseless, heartless decision highlighted this weekend with Non-League clubs like Weston-super-Mare, Hednesford Town, Guiseley, Southend United and others denied a replay, a chance of more revenue and potential memories for a lifetime. The Cup is a great competition, a historic institution that should be cherished and better protected. The game is about David as well as Goliath. #FACup
@manicpaul@TraffordCouncil United at home tomorrow, good luck to anyone trying to get there from the M60 or Chester Road in time for kick off who runs their normal timing to travel to OT by car.
Hopefully OT will put out a travel alert for any drivers to leave mega early.
Hopefully it’ll be done soon.
@GregBroadhurst@TraffordCouncil Totally agree- just gets worse. 3 lanes down to 1. Turned around and went to work from home having spent 40 mins to travel 1 mile
Hey @TraffordCouncil any idea when the roadworks causing traffic chaos on Chester Road will be completed.
Between J7 and Stretford Mall is like a car park now, one car used the pavement this morning to get on to the M60 and save waiting another 10 mins plus to move 100 yards.
On this #WorldGorillaDay, let's commit to taking action for gorilla conservation! 🦍🌿 By supporting sustainable tourism, protecting their natural habitats, and promoting conservation programs, we can help secure a future where #gorillas can thrive in the wild.
If you grew up and fell in love with cricket in the 90s, you'll know how much of a legend this man is. An amazingly brave batter, stylish, understated and just fucking cool. This is so sad.
