Today, brodbes ODM will feel the "morning-after effect", when last night's illicit sweetness gives way to the "double-pill reality", when you have to rush to the nearest pharmacy to get P2 to build a bridge between sweetness and dreaded expectations. Yes, there was a sea of orange humanity in Kisumu and a million yellow school buses to show for it...but then WHAT NEXT?

The Kisumu rally was conceived as an answer to Sifuna, who stormed the city and spooked its purported owners mightily. But before and after the Sifuna rally in the lakeside city, the Nairobi Senator had and has already been to Busia, Kitengela, Narok, Kisii, Kakamega, Machakos and Mombasa. All these places voted for Raila Odinga in 2022 and before. Can brodbes ODM answer Sifuna in these venues too? Indeed, can that Kisumu rally now be replicated in Raila's old bases without Ruto's money, merchandise and school buses?

The first P2 pill the Wanga-Mbadi ODM should swallow is the one confirming that it has been reduced to a Luo operation. And even in that Luo corner, they still needed a KES200 million bussing operation and six weeks of activities to conduct the Kisumu rally. The discussions centered around "our community this and that". It is obvious even to their allies like Simba Arati and Abdulswamad that these guys have switched on their tribal survival mode and the rest are only playing flower girls. After all, school buses won't ferry people to vote in 2027. Before the people can organically own a philosophy, it doesn't translate into electoral triumph.

The second P2 pill has to do with the status of that faction. The differences have been hidden but started coming to the surface within the past two weeks. The fallout at the top is vicious. There are those top leaders accusing one of their own of receiving all the money, giving logistics and merchandise tenders to close relatives, before eating the rest. There is the senior member of the faction who now refuses to attend their rallies because he refuses to bend to the new dictatorship in the faction. Then there is the senior leader who is so enraged by the conduct of the others around him that he practically gets dragged to these functions via presidential phone calls only, while threatening to unite with Sifuna!

My P2 assessment report says that yesterday's sweetness was the peak of brodbes ODM, but also the beginning of its abortion. After yesterday, they have no idea what to do and will begin their downfall. Because beyond Luoland, those folks have no pulse. And even in Luo land, once the Ruto money and Gachagua's name run out, they'll be heading to the political gravey.
