People still do not get it. Trump saying today that Ukraine will get a license to build Patriot missiles means that Ukraine will get no new Patriots for years. It means Russia can attack Ukraine until 2028 (at the earliest) and Ukraine will get no new interceptors.
NEW: We obtained a classified tranche of documents prepared by the Chinese and Russian military proposing an unprecedented level of integrated aerospace defense between the two countries. One of their targets? The @Starlink satellite constellation, which they see as a major threat, thanks to its use in the ongoing war in Ukraine, and now aim to countermand with cyber attacks or simply by shooting down @elonmusk's property in Low Earth orbit: https://t.co/ZsEfcXXpjJ

For 4th July, I share this lovely American Autochrome from 1910, capturing a woman darning the US flag (which, at the time, only had 46 stars, as there were only 46 US States). It was taken in colour 116 years ago by Mrs B Russell, using an early colour glass plate process. It isn't colourised.
4 July 1944 | A transport of 1,100 Jewish men, women, and children arrived at Auschwitz from Drancy in German-occupied. After the arrival, a selection was made by SS doctors; 398 men and 223 women were registered in the camp. The remaining 479 people were murdered in a gas chamber.

30 June 1923 | A Czech Jew, Jiří Steiner, was born in Prague.

This is such a remarkable Autochromes plate, which displays an expert understanding of light, depth and composition which is more akin to a painting. It was photographed in colour 112 years ago by Franklin Price Knott and depicts a native American woman shrouded in the foreground trees with the ancient South Pueblo illuminated in the distance. The photograph was taken in Taos, New Mexico, in 1914 and is original colour. It isn't colourised.
