“Do things that don’t scale.”
The famous @ycombinator/@AirBnB advice suggests that a startup's key advantage is serving customers & fixing problems in ways that larger competitors cannot.
Many creators should take this advice & shift mindsets to effectively monetize.

"Do bold things with a pleasant and friendly demeanor."
From 3-2-1 by @JamesClear today.
I need chew on it a bit more, but this may be the most powerful single line of advice for living an extraordinary life.
The last 10 minutes of this talk from David Weiden at the KV CEO Summit was the best 10 mins on startup finance / fundraising I've seen.
Redacted (but still worth it) version:
📜 The Allegory of the Cave: A Journey to Enlightenment 📜
Imagine being chained in a dark cave, only able to see shadows cast on the wall by objects behind you. This is the reality for the prisoners in Plato's Allegory of the Cave. They believe these shadows are the only reality because they've never seen anything else.
But what happens when one prisoner is freed and discovers the source of the shadows? Initially, the light of the fire blinds him, and he is overwhelmed. As he ventures out of the cave, the sunlight is even more blinding. Slowly, he adjusts and sees the true world for the first time, full of vibrant colors and diverse forms, a stark contrast to the dim cave.
This journey from darkness to light symbolizes the philosopher's path from ignorance to knowledge. The cave represents our limited perception shaped by our senses, while the outside world signifies the realm of ideas and true understanding. The painful adjustment to the light reflects the struggle for enlightenment and the challenge of embracing new truths.
When the freed prisoner returns to the cave to enlighten others, they ridicule him, preferring the familiar shadows. This represents the resistance to change and the difficulty of conveying deeper truths to those entrenched in their beliefs.
The Allegory of the Cave teaches us that true knowledge comes from questioning our perceptions and being open to new insights. It's a reminder that the path to enlightenment is challenging but ultimately rewarding.
Let's strive to break free from our own caves and seek the light of truth and wisdom.

@mbao For sure. Thanks, Matt.
My favorite book of his is Great by Choice. I just finished Built to Last which is great as well.
I’d recommend watching this lecture he gave on the Drucker Centennial.
His interviews on the @tferriss podcast are also great.

Show up early and pack up slowly
If I could only give one piece of advice to incoming college students, this would be it
Sometimes it leads to awkward conversations, but trust me, it's a small price to pay for the benefits

A lot of people ask good questions, and I regularly found myself thinking, “I should have asked that.”
Packing up slowly allowed me to hear answers to all the questions I was not smart enough to ask.
