@LancsHospitals
Patient safety obviously means nothing to you by allowing a quack to perform surgery.
Consent under Montgomery rulings is not informed for patient if a quack performs the surgery.
No sane executives want to be operated upon by an unregulated quack
@HealthWtch
🔴Hi @LancsHospitals
There is a strong evidence that a Physician Assistant is performing brain surgeries on your patients such as Subdural Haematoma evacuation ☠️💀
⭕️It was “all on-the-job learning”.
⭕️They also teach junior Doctors??
This is an unprecedented situation.
This is the status quo Mr Streeting is defending and argues is perfectly reasonable. 👇🏼
The assistant to the doctor earns 46.4% more than the doctor in London.
Make it make sense. 🤷🏻♂️
Following the announcement of the @BMA_Consultants indicative ballot yesterday I talked to @trentconsultant about the background to the indicative ballot, next steps, why it matters to consultants and how you can get involved 🗣️

Somewhat strange to hear @bbcnickrobinson haranguing an NHS Consultant for being on “over £100,000” and claiming to channel the feelings of ordinary people.
His salary in 2024 was between £345,000 - £349,000. For presenting radio programs. Which never saved anyone’s life?
The DDRB's report to government is late and this puts vital pay reforms at risk. We have today written to @wesstreeting asking him to:
📢 Publish the report immediately upon receipt
🤝Enter good-faith negotiations if recommendations fall short
Doctors deserve fair pay and action is needed now.

Tonight: "more to come." The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg says there are MORE messages from that now-infamous Signal group chat. And Trump’s special envoy was in Moscow—with Putin—when the group was created. @ErinBurnett breaks it down in tonight's #A3
@TheBMA@UHP_NHS@DrPhilBanfield It sounds heavily stage managed in a poorly disguised attempt to influence the visit with overt bias.
Monies spent supervising PAs & AAs would be better spent on dramatically increasing residents’ training places

It is troubling that resident doctors were reportedly not informed of Professor Gillian Leng's visit to @UHP_NHS as part of her review into the safety of PAs and AAs.
@DrPhilBanfield has written to the CEO to express our concerns and seek answers. Read the letter:
Oxford Professor @trishgreenhalgh's team has examined the evidence for the safety of deploying physician associates in the UK.
TL:DR - it doesn't exist.
Her systematic review is out today.
A hugely significant piece of work that has major implications for the #LengReview.
Solidarity with @BMA_Consultants.
Doctors will not take any further pay cuts lying down. The fight for full pay restoration is not over.
Doctors, it’s time to start mobilising and getting ready for action.
🧵/ This heartbreaking case highlights why so many doctors like me have begged @NHSEngland & @DHSCgovuk to stop endangering NHS patients by substituting doctors with non-medically trained PAs
We've been dismissed & smeared as "toxic bullies".
Please read this thread & decide.
Great to have developed, and to be leading, today’s ’Organising for local action’ training day for BMA Midlands with @thomasdolphin
Covering local organising, campaigns and disputes as we build towards an ‘organising to win’ approach that empowers BMA members locally
A damning indictment.
Those of us who sit opposite many of these managers know this Trust is far from alone in this type of conduct.
Many cannot be trusted and don’t have patients’ interests at heart.
Regulate them now and don’t trust them to set safe scopes for associates.
@NHSEnglandNMD Hi Steve - it would be unfair on all- including @NavinaEvans who I have already responded to on this - if I didn’t reply to this
There are factual inaccuracies in the report
It maybe worth looking at that- and the wider issues about personal abuse many doctors have taken too
You are selling out medical profession and using PAs to downskill #NHS which will degrade quality of care leading to more preventable harm & death.
Not very respectful of sick patients is it Stephen?
Not very dignified to sick patients to languish in corridors or be dumped at home either.
Can we expect many more co-ordinated hit pieces against doctor that you endorse?
