Serving on the Coon Rapids Parks & Rec Commission reinforced a belief I’ve long held. Local government is where community takes shape. The decisions made close to home shape our parks, programs, & daily lives. Understanding local government is key to building stronger communities
Attorney General Keith Ellison has served Minnesota, including our diaspora communities, with dedication. Grateful for the opportunity to know and work with leaders like him over the years. Thank you for your continued service to our state.
Happy Independence Day!🇺🇸
Today we celebrate 250 years of America’s independence and everyone who has helped shape our nation; from our Founding Fathers to servicemembers, workers, families, and diaspora communities.

It was great joining neighbors at our @coonrapidsgov Fourth of July Parade.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our community.
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and enjoyable Fourth of July!

Long before I ran for the Minnesota Senate, I believed service begins with listening.
That belief hasn’t changed. Strong communities are built when people are heard, respected, and included in the process and decisions that shape their future.
Senator Foung Hawj has been a dedicated public servant and community leader. Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate over the years and for our shared commitment to building stronger communities through trust, partnership, and service.
Public safety is a shared responsibility. Safe communities are strongest when residents, community leaders, and law enforcement work together. Through engagement, partnership, trust, and collaboration, we build stronger, safer communities for everyone.
Even when you feel unseen, you are never alone. God sees every silent battle, every tear, every weight you carry, & He is right there with you through it all.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted & saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11)
“We all have a responsibility to stand up and speak up for those whose voices may be silenced.”
That responsibility lives in all of us.

Let’s continue the work — together.
A RESPONSIBILITY WE ALL CARRY
Over the past decade as a community organizer, I’ve had the profound honor of working alongside some of the most consequential leaders of our time. These experiences have shaped my calling to serve and strengthened my belief in what we can
accomplish when we stand together.
One moment I’ll never forget was the opportunity to share space with Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. @RevJJackson right here in Minnesota. As we spoke, he leaned in and whispered words that still guide me today:
Honoring Rosa Parks; Seventy Years Later, Her Courage Still Guides Us.
Seventy years ago today, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, and in that simple, courageous act, she ignited a movement that reshaped our nation.
As we honor her legacy, we’re reminded that the fight for civil rights isn’t something in our history books, it’s right here, in our commitment to dignity, equal opportunity, and a community where everyone can thrive.
