With all this talk about the doctrine of election can we just appreciate how beautiful the story of God’s redemptive arc is:
God created us in order that we may partake in his great love and experience his unfathomable glory forever. Mankind however, represented by our first federal head Adam, in our pride rebelled against the God who had given us all that we ever could have wanted or needed, we rebelled against the one who created us, the one from whom all goodness, truth, and beauty flow. Because of this choice we fell into a state of sin, in which we loved sin. Because of our great love for sin, we were now incapable of choosing God and that which is good, true, and beautiful. Because God is perfectly holy, righteous, and just, this means that He hates sin, therefore we deserved to spend eternity separated from Him and His glory. We were on a one way path to death and hell with nothing to stop us. But God, the two most powerful words in the history of the world. But God again in an overflow of His love and desire to have us experience His glory elected from the beginning those who were to be His. He then became incarnate in the second person of the trinity, Jesus Christ, to redeem His sheep. He did so by living a perfectly righteous life, worthy of being in communion with God, in doing so covering us in His righteousness so that when God looks at us He no longer sees the rebellious sinners which we were but instead the perfect man that Christ is. He then went to the cross and died the horrific death we deserve on our behalf. Taking on the wrath of God in order that He may remain perfectly just while still being gracious and merciful. He did all of this, specifically for you, yes you. The third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, then makes us dead sinners alive so that we may receive Christ as our savior. Once we have been born again, forgiven of our sins, and cloaked in Christ's righteousness, God then, by His power, holds those who are His so tight that they may never fall away from Him again.
This is the story of our salvation. It is from beginning to end a display of God's love for His sheep. It is He who elects, justifies, redeemed, sanctifies, and glorifies. May He not be robbed of an ounce of glory for His monergistic work for those whom He loves.
I can’t tell you how fired up I am for a reformed Christian to be in a position of influence in cultural discourse. To add on top of my excitement, it’s a fellow CREC brethren who is unashamed and leans into the word of our Lord!!! @haymes_joshua
@EllisWyatt1971@Christo12919382 Right haha, I am a Christian and want what’s best for my country. Christ is Lord over not just my own heart but all of creation… including the government!
Postmodernism has left a longing in man’s soul for true beauty.
How can the church reclaim the objectivity of beauty? How can the church utilize the perfect beauty of God for the advancement of the kingdom?
Resources on the theology of beauty would be much appreciated!
What are you doing today to advance the kingdom of God tomorrow? As a young man myself, this question has been at the forefront of my mind more and more recently. David spent the entire second half of his reign preparing for the temple that was to come in his son’s kingship. He knew that he would never get to see the glory of the temple of God, yet for this temple he labored (1 Chronicles 22-28).
Will I ever get to see the fullness of Christendom and its glory brought forth by Christ through His church? Probably not as a member of the church militant. However there is still much work to be done to prepare the soil for this day. I want to encourage other young men like myself to prepare well now for the day coming in which, by Gods grace, we be given others in our care to raise up to continue the work of the church (Psalm 127). May we be prepared to advance the kingdom of God and to defend it from the world, the flesh, and the devil.
“Stop the genocide, yes. Don’t punish the genociders” 🤦♂️
At this point everyone should know that Christianity Today consistently objects to the word of God. However, if you’re out of the loop, now you know (Gen. 9:6; Rom. 13:1-5; Numbers 35:16-31; Deut. 19:11-13; etc etc etc)
Save the Unborn, Yes. Don’t Punish Their Mothers.
Abortion abolitionists seeking to prosecute women for having abortions miss the mark.

We have to stop using categories like “mental illness” to describe things like transgenderism
It’s not an illness
It wicked, high-handed rebellion against God and God’s created order
It’s not an “illness,” it’s sin
We need to stop using therapeutic categories like “mental illness” to describe this kind of thing
It’s a willful darkening of one’s mind, a a willful blindness to reality, for which the person is accountable
Pro-family welfare is better than anti-family welfare, but it would be foolish to pretend like it will not have any downsides. When it comes to politics, there are no solutions, only tradeoffs. Pro-family welfare might encourage more family formation and more stay-at-home moms, but it will also further emasculate a cohort of men who will miss out on the satisfaction and respect that come from being the provider for their families. Welfare always, always, always emasculates men. If the money is going to be spent no matter what, sure, I'd rather it be given to married couples instead of subsidizing fatherlessness (since we will always get more of what we subsidize), but let's not pretend like "socialism for families" is some magic cure to the brokenness of our culture.
Loser theology, doormat Christianity, and the poverty gospel are all manifestations of the same outlook - namely, Christians prove their faithfulness by their failures. Power, wealth, success, ambition, and so on, are all too dangerous for Christians to handle. It's better, safer, and godlier to get trampled underfoot for Jesus. We may be losers but at least we are good losers! The problem, of course, is that Jesus said his people getting trampled underfoot could be a sign of judgment - a sign that the salt has lost its saltiness.
Therapy culture, wokeness, and feminism are all different manifestations of the same thing - a war on reality and a subversion of God’s order. They each prioritize feelings over truth, women over men, and victimhood over responsibility.
Without the resurrection, life becomes a mist that appears for a little time and is then gone forever (James 4:14). Thanks be to God, that because of the resurrection, our life has a meaning and a hope (Romans 6:5, 8-10; 1st Cor. 15:17)!
Texas U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico’s pastor (PCUSA) preaches during his Easter sermon that Jesus NEVER rose bodily from the dead and that he does NOT believe in a literal resurrection.
I read the article so you don’t have to.
Conclusion: just another mischaracterization of Christian nationalism in order to virtue signal to those who hate Christ. He actually conceded most Christian Nationalist points as being true, but then goes on to attack their practical applications.
Still formulating my complete thoughts on this. However, a problem I see consistently from the JD Greer types is the conflating of the gospel to being primarily about our salvation and not about the kingdom of God coming to earth. The gospel most definitely includes our salvation but is not limited to it.
