@matoxley This bike sold at the Bonhams auction yesterday for £967,000…
We had this picture hanging on the stairs at home when I was growing up… Bray Hill, in the wet, front and rear suspension on the bump stops… still going absolutely flat out …
@matoxley I watched Dave and the Team Obsolete guys on the Island in the 80’s; Team Obsolete were way ahead of their time with onboard video… Thank goodness they recorded history.
Dave vs Hugh Anderson vs Bob Newby at the Brands Hatch SuperPrix for the Hailwood Trophy, was an epic race!
@RacingBackPod@MotoGPJules Mike Hailwood’s car racing is forgotten. He drove F1 in 63-65 and was a top F1 driver in the 70’s. Alistair Caldwell, at 38m30s in👇drops the tantalising suggestion that Hailwood would have got the job to lead McLaren in 1976, after Fittipaldi left

@AntonioRamosGP What a beautiful photo; Christian Sarron was such a stylist on a 500cc GP bike. Almost Mike Hailwood like with the bike, not hanging way off the sides like the Americans of the era, and because of that, perhaps the best wet weather rider of that era?? @matoxley@PeterBom4
@PeterBom4@MotoGP@KTM_Racing@matoxley That is quite remarkable. It looks like it’s been gas welded, not TIG?!
For some reason it instantly reminds me of the famous, rather beaten up, cut-and-shut Joey Dunlop TZ750 tank from the 1980 TT…
@ScarbsTech@MotoStudent@WarwickMoto Fascinating. Very close to a 1960’s 500cc privateer GP bike:
1969 496cc Matchless Metisse:
51bhp
125kg
65Nm (48lbs ft)
@Motor_Sport@marcmarquez93 You should really count Mike Hailwood’s 1978 TT-F1 FIM World Championship, which makes 10…
Even if you can’t count his 1972 F2 car racing championship for Surtees…
Phil Read was 8-times World Champion… Let’s not forget him.
@SirGuyGuisborne@matoxley@simonnewby I’ll have to check, but I thought the belt itself was the Gates continuous Carbon/Kevlar belt. That’s what we tend to use in the bicycle industry these days anyway.
" I believe the Whyte Verro is the best gravel bike currently available under £2,000."
Our Matt has been putting Whyte's new Verro through its paces, and it's safe to say that he's quite the fan. Here's the review - https://t.co/2gxkYxteMf
@MotoGPJules A great shot of Godfrey Nash, leading Rex Butcher Ago and Dan Shorey at the Sachsenring in 1968…
Alan Barnet was Ago’s closest rival in ‘69; 2nd at the TT, 2nd at Assen, 3rd in Belgium, DNF in the Ulster but didn’t ride any other rounds! Ago had a very easy ride in these years
In this week's Five Cool Things, we've got a double dose of @whytebikes as we check out the brand's latest Verro gravel bike and Secta Hardtail. That's not all, as we've also got kit from @troyleedesigns, @veloforte, and @reservewheels.

@matoxley Well, apparently it was us lot in the bicycle industry that caused Pierer Mobility to come unstuck… Quite an achievement to burn €400m making underwhelming e-bikes.
