"Every morning when he gets out of bed and walks into the living room he sees the portrait. It is always illuminated and she is always smiling at him."
That is how "His Eternal Light", Chapter 2 of Exhumed ends.
This is a personal story I decided to write to honor my grandmother.
From Columbia Journalism School dean Jelani Cobb to students: "We believe that journalists have a fundamental right to cover the news. Your efforts turned those sentiments into reality. You told the stories the global public deserved to hear. You helped the School to meet its mission."
The bravery of student journalists at Columbia is a testament to how crucial and important local journalism is. There is immense value in hearing from reporters who deeply understand and care about the community they report from and live in
“The emotional weight is piling up,” reports Teddy Wyche from @WKCRFM at Columbia. “We are students first. Student journalists.”
Thoughtful, brave, and measured coverage that is produced by students and professional in quality.
These student journalists are meeting the moment, covering the Columbia student protests with stunning detail that only they can provide. (Their website even crashed—so find them on their Instagram live stream!)
Amor, admiración y respeto a todxs mis colegas periodistas.
