Premier League Kicks 🤝 Ability Counts

Our participants from Premier League Kicks took on the role of coaches at a recent Ability Counts session 🏃🏽

Allowing the boys to coach in a real-world environment helps their personal and professional development and allows them to have a positive impact in their local community, while also helping the Aston Villa Foundation prepare the next generation of coaches 💪

In collaboration with Blackstory Partnership, we hosted a Windrush tournament for U16s, celebrating heritage, unity and education through sport, while highlighting the importance of community connection and cultural pride. Participants enjoyed a Windrush workshop as well as Caribbean food and music to accompany the football tournament 🥘🎤

2025 marks the 76th year since the first African Caribbeans came to England on the HMS Empire Windrush on 22nd June 1948. This tournament helps us recognise and remember the significant contributions made by the Windrush generation in rebuilding England following the World War II.

Zack has been attending Premier League Kicks sessions this season, and his dad has reflected on the difference it has made in Zack’s life. ⚽️

He went on to say “The coaches have instilled discipline into Zacks routine. He never wants to be late nearly always the first one there and wants to get straight onto the pitch, this has followed through to getting up for school too.

The smile he has on his face when he goes on and comes off the pitch each week is invaluable and we like to thank all the coaches and everyone at the Aston Villa Foundation for providing Zack with this opportunity.”
