Something nobody tells you in your twenties:
Everyone is making it up. The friend with the startup is terrified it's going to fail.
The one at Google is bored out of their mind and feels guilty about it.
The one doing their masters isn't sure it was the right call.
The one traveling the world isn't as free as their Instagram suggests.
You see their highlights and compare them to your behind-the-scenes. You think they figured something out that you missed.
They didn't.
They're asking the same uncertain questions, and are unsure just like you.
Your career isn't behind. Your life isn't behind. There is no schedule. Nobody is tracking milestones except you and the weird voice in your head that sounds suspiciously like LinkedIn.
The people who look like they have it all together just got better at performing. And the ones who actually do have it together will tell you it took a decade of not having it together to get there.
Relax. The timeline you're measuring yourself against doesn't exist. Someone made it up.
