VIDEO NEWS: The 21 kidnapped victims, including 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have been rescued following a high risk search and rescue operation in a forested area between Egume and Ochaja in Dekina LGA, Kogi State.

The victims were abducted by bandits on August 26 along the Alloma–Ajule–Itobe Road in Kogi State.

When Patriotism Dies, National Sabotage Becomes Political Strategy.

It is becoming painfully obvious that critical elements of Nigeria’s strategic state infrastructure are either asleep, compromised, or grossly inadequate for the responsibilities of a sovereign nation. There is no serious country on earth that would casually tolerate the spectacle of its own citizens, particularly individuals seeking the nation’s highest office, roaming foreign capitals attempting to weaponize foreign institutions against their own country and its elected leadership over allegations, rumours, and recycled narratives that have been in the public domain for over three decades.

This is not opposition. It is not patriotism. It is not democratic engagement. It is the elevation of personal political ambition above national interest.

What exactly is the objective? To persuade foreign governments that Nigeria’s President is illegitimate? To encourage external interference in Nigeria’s domestic affairs? To reduce Africa’s largest nation to a subject of endless international ridicule because some politicians cannot win the confidence of their own people at home?

No nation worthy of the name behaves this way. Americans do not travel abroad seeking foreign intervention against their country. The Chinese do not. The Indians do not. The Russians do not. Even nations with far deeper political divisions understand that there is a line beyond which domestic politics becomes national sabotage.

The most disturbing aspect is not even the conduct of these political actors. It is the weakness of the Nigerian state in responding to it. A nation that cannot defend its reputation, protect its institutions, and aggressively counter hostile narratives against its leadership projects weakness to the world. It invites further attacks. It signals that there are no consequences for conduct that diminishes national prestige.

Whether one likes Pre. @officialABAT or not is completely irrelevant. Tomorrow it may be another President. The principle remains the same. Once foreign actors begin to believe they can be recruited into Nigeria’s domestic political battles, the sovereignty of the nation itself becomes the casualty.

The damage from these reckless campaigns extends far beyond politics. Investors watch. Diplomatic partners watch. International institutions watch. Global media watches. Long after the political actors have moved on to their next conspiracy theory, the stain on Nigeria’s image remains. It affects confidence, perception, influence, and ultimately national interest.

The Nigerian state must therefore undertake a complete overhaul of its intelligence, diplomatic, strategic communications, and reputation-management architecture. The era of treating these matters as harmless political drama must end. Nations that survive and prosper are those that understand that information warfare, reputation warfare, and political warfare are real.

Most importantly, there must be a clear national understanding that patriotism has limits on disagreement but no limits on loyalty to country. Citizens are free to oppose governments. They are free to criticize policies. They are free to seek power through democratic means. What they should never be free to do is deliberately drag their nation through the mud before foreign audiences in pursuit of personal political objectives.

Nigeria is not a conquered territory. It is not a protectorate. It is not a playground for disgruntled politicians seeking validation from foreign powers. It is a sovereign republic, and it is long overdue for the state to demonstrate that it possesses both the will and the capacity to defend its dignity.

History is unforgiving toward nations that fail to distinguish between opposition and sabotage. Equally, history is unforgiving toward states that lack the courage to protect themselves from those who mistake national tolerance for national weakness.
This nonsense must be punished in due season.

One of the projects that caught my attention in Ekiti State is the Ekiti Ring Road.
This project is designed to change the way people and businesses move around Ado-Ekiti and open up new areas for development.

The road connects directly to the airport and the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, creating an alternative route around the city while opening up communities along the corridor.

Whilst in Ekiti I decided to tried the famous pounded yam and Egusi soup with a side of Obe Jedi and honestly, it was exactly the kind of meal you want after a long day of exploring.

Afterwards, I had the opportunity to visit one of the interesting natural attractions in Ado-Ekiti called Okuta - Gbokuta-Lori, which literally describes the idea of “a stone on top of another stone.” It is a fascinating rock formation located around the Okeyinmi area of Ado-Ekiti and is recognised as one of the city’s natural attractions.
This is one of the things I enjoy about travelling around Nigeria. Sometimes, you don’t have to go very far to find something unique. The food, the people, the culture and even the rocks around us all have stories to tell.
And Ekiti definitely has plenty of those stories.

Today, I joined my team @pitstopcommunity during the monthly environmental sanitation in Lagos.

Lagos is intensifying efforts to build a more efficient, sustainable and accountable waste management system across the State.

With over 200 compactor trucks that @lagosstategovt has just acquired to strengthen waste evacuation @lagosmoe @hctokunbowahab is also working around the clock to address challenges at landfills, dump sites and critical waste collection points, while ensuring engagement with PSP operators to improve service delivery.

I believe we should not only demand change from the government, but should also play our own part in creating the kind of city we want to live in.

Keeping Lagos clean is not the responsibility of government alone. It belongs to all of us.

In the past, Imo State used to be regarded as one of the worst states in the Southeast when it came to road infrastructure and overall road networks. Today, the reverse is the case.
It is honestly surprising that @he_hopeuzodimma is not getting all the flowers he deserves for the scale of projects and visible transformation happening across the state. Perhaps it is because much of the work is being done quietly, without the usual media attention.
But for me, I won’t keep quiet when I see genuine progress. When infrastructure is being delivered and people can see the difference, it deserves to be acknowledged.
This is Imo State in 2026. Massive transformation is happening here.
