The reason Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng and other senior doctors fighting medical interns yet Hon. Joel Ssenyoni a non medic is fighting for medical interns is simple.
I have spent most of my adult life around doctors but they're the worst people who front "EGO" in every discussion.
That's why you hear most doctors get furious when a patient questions them. The whole medical life, the ties, the books and titles shapes doctors to approach most situations with ego even sometimes at the expense of lives and it takes a lot of practice for a doctor to redeem his soul and see things with clarity.
Trust me, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows what he is doing is wrong, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng did know she was wrong but to them this is a fight between intern doctors and their ego. These two doctors when they were interns did strike for the very issues interns are fighting for, so they know what they're doing but I can confidently tell you that they won't publicly say that they're wrong.
All senior doctors were paid during medical internship. I was paid, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi was paid, Dr. Omona was paid, Dr. Kiza Besigye was paid... Everyone you see Dr. And did internship in Uganda was paid for a reason and it is the same reason all countries do pay.
I don't blame the rest of Ugandans to fail to see this but fellow doctors well know all countries pay medical interns. All of them.
Kenya pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Tanzania pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Rwanda pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Ghana pays medical interns/house officers, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
South Africa pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Botswana pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Namibia pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Zambia pays medical interns, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Zimbabwe pays medical interns/ junior doctors, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
The UK pays foundation doctors, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Ireland pays intern doctors, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Australia pays intern doctors, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
New Zealand pays first-year doctors/house officers, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
The United States pays resident physicians, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
Canada pays resident physicians, and Dr. Chris Baryomunsi knows it.
This list goes on....
I'm sure, the ego of doctors still will affect and blind the decision in this yet it's going to affect the whole medical training.
Today, I inspected the ongoing construction works on the Masaka–Kyotera–Mutukula Road, a strategic regional corridor that connects Uganda to the United Republic of Tanzania and serves as a vital route for trade, tourism and cross-border movement.
I am concerned that with only two years remaining on the contract, just about 30% of the works have been completed. This pace is not satisfactory for a project of such national and regional importance.
I directed the contractor to intensify dust suppression by regularly watering the entire corridor, to prevent accidents which have become a common occurrence due to the dust and lack of speed humps.
The contractor has 90 days to commence tarmarcing of the road!
@MoWT_Uganda will maintain close supervision of this project to ensure improved performance, adherence to quality standards and timely delivery.

These guys had actually refused to do the cleaning infront of their own shops. But man look at how clogged those trenches are.
They will go ahead and complain when their shops flood on a rainy day.
@GODFREY_Kutesa Most of their clientele are expats working for international NGOs. Mind you children’s school fees is part of the employee’s remuneration unlike the hard working parents like you at St Peter’s who have to pay directly from their pocket.
Just so you know, ISU , International School of Uganda is starting a new academic yr and fees is USD 8000-18,000 a yr depending on the grade ur child is entering.
The 1.5 million you pay for fees at St Peter’s and you shout around in the Parents Group abusing all teachers is the registration fee to join ISU.
You must also deposit a security fee of USD 10,000 if your child is to join Grade 1 and above.
Kabira International School will make you cough 60-70 million a yr if your child is there.
A child at Ambrosoli will pay 20-40 million a yr. This doesn’t include additional costs, uniform, galas etc
I can assure you that all these schools are at full capacity.
Make little noise when a school allows you to pay 2 million as fees. No need to abuse the Askari for not allowing you to enter the school at cut off hours.

A children's hospital received donated medical equipment (tax exempt) worth Ugx 1,460,000,000 from abroad.
But,URA illegally auctioned it off at Ugx 4,000,000
High court has told URA to pay a fine of Ugx 1,660,000,000 & Ugx 200,000,000 in damages.
"Developing Uganda together"
At this rate, I am nolonger blaming the government. Because tell me why as a qualified doctor you got to report work so late and make critically ill patients wait for yet u scream so loud when your salary is delayed?
A whole health center 3 has no qualified doctor on duty🙌🏾🥲
Dear @BalaamBarugahar & @JustineNameere
As you clean up local government, kindly take keen interest in District Service Commissions. In many districts, they have become crime scenes disguised as recruitment offices.
A qualified doctor may be asked for “fuel” of only 2 to 5 millions, just to make the shortlist, then told to raise as much as 40 millions "to properly secure the job".
If applicants are broke and the "revenue" collected is not enough, the vacancy is simply re-advertised the next year and another group of desperate applicants is invited.
There are posts that remain vacant for years, not because there are no qualified personnel but because they are being kept for someone’s relative who has just joined university.
Public jobs are being auctioned, while qualified Ugandans remain unemployed.
This rot deserves a serious investigation. And, desicive treatment.
