Anti-Trump, anti-UCP, pro-NDP. Follow back after a quick check to see if you line up, otherwise me following you = I know you from elsewhere/I like your Tweets
For those who would dismiss my arguments because I'm 'Liberal':
I have no party allegiance. At present, the UCP are failures and the Alberta NDP are the only hope I can see. I hate corruption, no matter the party
Just happens that provincially, that corruption is in the UCP
@Roltas01 Dr. Nyri is also working on translations and looking at historical context over on bsky
Her translation of Typhlosion's story:

@CharCharYYC @IyanVelji @JyotiGondek Calgary even had sections in storage for a swift fix, the danage was just that bad. That would be the fault of whoever is in charge of monitoring the pipe, or the fault of bosses up the chain for covering it up (up to and potentially inc. city council members)
@douggra71443999 @IyanVelji @JyotiGondek This was the fault of many, including those before her. Be mad for her inability to message, but a break like this had damage starting years back - The dept. in charge of monitoring failed to do their job even back before Gondek
@baddestmamajama@wanderlustpdx Plus, Hitler literally spent his first few years purging the government and military of those not loyal. So there is precedent for how this turns out
@GwenBubble@JyotiGondek I mean, so long as most of us restrict, you should be fine? This seems to be the easing the system back to normal volumes step
Plus, estimates are just that, estimates. Stuff comes up to throw off timelines. Just means add 10% more time to whatever Jyoti says as she overpromises
@IGBecker200@Under_the_Wing@JyotiGondek From what I've been hearing, a few council members knew it needed repairs but didn't want to hurt their reelection chances via a short shutdown. So now we have over a week long one
If this is true, then I hope we find out which council members it was
@travligthrulife@ABDanielleSmith It takes time to do repairs on something this big and major, along with tests
Your anger has the wrong reasons - It apparently could have been updated sooner but Council was worried about short term minor anger and kept delaying it til catastrophic failure
So, after the main gets fixed in hopefully no more than a week, though apparently it could take a month based on smaller breaks? will we see, I don't know... Maybe multiple mains installed for redundancy?
@Joe__312@Anonano45911922@cityofcalgary Apparently it had maintainence in April
https://t.co/cB5JbOHF3w
So something definitely went wrong - Something like this should have had signs - either in the infrastructure or in other aspects
@Anonano45911922@cityofcalgary Well, found this quote:
"What I can tell you is that this piece of infrastructure was identified for maintenance work earlier this year, and that work took place in April."
So, definitely incompetence involved since it JUST had maintainence work
@ReptileStare@calgarysun Still very unlikely to be sabotage. Much more likely that politicians were padding wallets by say taking lobbying money and building a new stadium instead of maintaining infrastructure
Neglect, not sabotage
@kennydob@nenshi Because the main water main that feeds clean, safe water into the city broke. It doesn't matter that it rained if the big pipe that delivers water is busted
