Ever since I remember existing he has been the face of football. 3 titles for Portugal and won it all for clubs. Undeniably the greatest European player of all time and second greatest of all time in general. Even though I always sided with Messi on GOAT debates, I always claimed it was either Messi or Ronaldo. Never winning World Cup will not change that.

Ending wasn't the prettiest but our strengths sometimes turn against us, and that's what happened to Ronaldo. Hate or love his personality but that is what lead him to becoming the greatest player in the world alongside Messi for over a decade, and he will always be an inspiration.

Still remember getting a Man United shirt when I was 7 yo with the CR7 on of course and since then that Man United squad led by another GOAT - Alex Ferguson - will always be my favorite team ever alongside Pep's Barcelona. Anyways, I feel really sad. Moreso from the end of this era that defined football for me than from Portugal leaving the WC. Football will never be the same without Ronaldo & Messi. Never.
