We are so focused in pursuing the lost outside of the church that we have neglected the ones who are lost inside, too. We cannot redeem everyone no matter how well meant we may be.
One of the hardest parts of helping others is being honest with yourself [in regards to your ulterior motives] why you’re extending your help in the first place.
“It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.” Proverbs 16:19
So do not conclude that in the Old Testament prosperity is proof of righteousness. Or that poverty is the mark of unbelief.
Every time the gospel is proclaimed, it either draws men to Christ or drives them further away. Because it runs so contrary to popular notions about God, that truth is difficult for many Christians to accept. (1/5)
