During unrelated field work on the west coast of Canada, we observed a gull making these weird biogenic sed structures in search of lunch — was too cool not to write the paper 😅

This ichnofossil was likely created by burrowing or feeding behaviors from marine worm-like organisms. But, just like with many other ichnofossils, it is difficult to pin the exact behavior that created it.
