You want an alliance between Opposition and Maraga's team because you feel you aren't capable of deciding whether you will vote for integrity or you will vote along your tribal lines, so the alliances makes it easy for you because apparently both will be on the same team. You're forgetting one thing, you can't mix fresh fruits with rotten ones, at the end, everything gets affected.
If the shared position is Ruto must go, then why are we building alliances with figures who are effectively cut from the same political fabric? If the current system is viewed as having lost public trust, why then unite with those who have also benefited from it? If today you were to vote between the opposition and Maraga's team and you believe the opposition deserves your vote, then you're the problem!
When you talk about Maraga recovering looted public funds, do you honestly believe it’s only Ruto and those in the current regime who are culpable? Are those in the opposition suddenly clean, or beyond scrutiny? If he ascends to power through alliances with the very people waiting for their turn at the table, how exactly is that fight against corruption supposed to work? Are we truly pushing for better governance and leadership anchored in integrity or are we just rallying behind chants of Ruto must go? Fine, he goes… then what? Do we end up replacing him with a Ruto Pro Max version of the same system, just repackaged with different faces?
The illusion of replacing leaders
2002: “We just need to replace Moi.”
Nobody cared about fixing the system.
2007: “We just need to replace Kibaki.”
No talk of systemic change
2022: “We just need to replace Uhuru.”
Infact vote Ruto to punish Uhuru
2027: “We just need to replace Ruto.”
Same illusion. Anyone but Ruto!
2032: “We just need to replace whoever”
A broken system eventually reproduces the same outcomes, no matter who sits at the top.
Can we discuss how we can reform the broken system atleast?
Your focus is on removing Ruto from power only. My focus goes beyond that, it’s also about replacing him and the system with credible, principled, and non-corrupt leadership, and restoring integrity in governance. We are not the same.
The reason you think Maraga needs Gachagua and his allies to win is because you’ve been conditioned to believe that these political figures must always dictate where your vote goes. Loyalty to individuals has replaced independent judgment. That’s why it feels difficult for you to imagine a different path, one where Maraga doesn’t rely on political kingpins, but on the people themselves. In reality, it is the voters who hold the real power, not the politicians.
@ed_kemboi@GaksEric Winning formulae ni kizungu mnapewangwa during election to make it complex. We have Okiya and Maraga, we have the responsibility as Citizens to vote for them and convince people to do the same. Kama the majority still do not see the need for change we will buckle up.
The main agenda is not removing Ruto, it is a better country.
Hii akili ndio ilifanya Ruto akakua President.
We wanted to do away with Uhuru so bad we didn't care who takes over.
