@nextlevelbb Coaching hard is great, abusive coaching is another thing all together. The problem is the subjectivity in those terms, and the softness of the parents/players. Abusive coaching should never happen, I think all would agree. But we have to define that term.

@tomhouse Watching my son play growing up the coaches that explained what they meant didn't need new ways to say things. The trouble is assuming that the player understands the words you are using. Put it in terms that are age appropriate and then make sure they are on the same page.

Dad questions are different and I'm still remember being that age Thinking I knew what I was doing even when I didn't. I don't think you can be either extreme on this. I shoot for the middle.

@nextlevelbb @liljpf @WKVeloBaseball I (as a parent) am involved. I think this is a huge part of the transfer portal issue. Kids don't know how or can't ask the right questions of older adults and end up at a school that doesn't fit them. My #1 job as dad is to advocate for and guide my kid.

@liljpf @nextlevelbb @WKVeloBaseball Mine is a dual sport athlete. Offers for both. record is only a part of the equation but it's a part. Right school and coaches record is unimportant, but had to be there to know. Only offer, he still wouldn't go. I've raised him right but he's still only 18.

@nextlevelbb @liljpf @WKVeloBaseball Thanks, just came off a visit that wasn't good. Over 20 new players on the roster this year. "Rebuilding" is an understatement and coaches were unsure of themselves and their plan. 7-46 record last year. I HAD QUESTIONS.

@DavidCCrowther When we lived in Mississippi I was given a 196? Fordson Super Dexta 3 cylinder diesel. Fun times. The neighbor had an autistic son that had a really nice Kubota and they had built trails for him to ride. We rode together at least once a week.
