I view China as an old empire and the new management still expects maximal control. I don't know of an empire that's changed this mindset without breaking up, unfortunately. 3/-

@Copela1492 @MsMelChen There are countries in the world that gave up or lost empire, and now interact with old holdings as normal partners. Spain with the Americas, Austria with the Balkans.

There are empires that haven't truly given up. The UK with the Commonwealth, France with the CFA. 2/

But i don't want them in my political party. I want the center right to pull the GOP back to the center, not for them to pull the Dems further right.

The right needs to learn that it's okay to lise arguments. They shouldn't upend the pillars of society to win.
