The Dr Oluwadamilare Akingbade Awards🏆
Growing up, I was deeply inspired by my parents' impact in the education sector, sparking my passion for academia. Even as I embarked on my nursing journey — practicing in various clinical settings from 2012 to 2017, and then in an administrative role with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria from 2017 to 2020 — the call to academia never left my heart. 💙📚
In 2021, a pivotal opportunity arrived: I was appointed as a Lecturer at Chrisland University, @Chrislanduni Nigeria, thanks to the recommendation and support of Prof. Prisca Adejumo and Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, the Vice Chancellor who embraced an internationalization approach that allowed me to teach from Hong Kong.
Through this role, I’ve had the privilege of teaching research, community health nursing, home health nursing, and quality improvement in nursing — pouring my heart into every class, mentoring, and supervising students across miles and time zones. 🌍💻
Today, I’m beyond thrilled to celebrate a milestone. The first set of students I mentored achieved a 100% pass rate in the Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, and Public Health Nursing exams from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Your dedication and resilience have truly paid off! 🏆✨
To make our research journey even more rewarding, I introduced an award for excellence when I began teaching research in 300L, promising to recognize the best in research. And now, during their recent induction — in my capacity as a Senior Lecturer and Ag. Head of Department, Community Health Nursing — I had the honor of recognizing this year’s outstanding students in Research, Community Health Nursing, and the Midwifery Qualifying Exam.
Congratulations to Jessica Esangbedo, @onehidahota, Iyanuoluwa Esther Orenaiya @BabyNaryah and Amusan Tobi, the award recipients! I’m already looking forward to seeing next year’s awardees. 🎉👏
To all my students, I believe in each one of you. You’ve made your mark, and I know you’ll reach the heights of everything the Lord has destined for you in nursing. Keep shining! 💫
Special thanks to Nurse Adewa Taiwo, Founder @OclickMedia , for the beautiful award designs and pictures 📸💖

Thank you so much Nurse Arowosegbe Obafemi (Nurse Krypton), NurseMe Organization, and all well wishers for the warm wishes. Thanks for making my birthday special. God bless you all!
When I first answered God’s call, He gave me two instructions:
1.Learn to live by Faith
2.Learn to be led by the Holy Spirit.
He said, “If you master these, you’ll pass every other test.”
Years later, at a minister’s conference, a senior minister said: “Those of you living by the anointing, shine now, but we who live by faith will conduct your funerals soon.” It shook me then, but now I know he was right.
Being called by God doesn’t exempt you from building your faith. You’re a Christian first, then a minister. The Just shall live by faith! 💥

Behold a new era of leadership at Institute of Nursing Research, Nigeria❗️
In 2016, during a pivotal chapter of my MSc journey at the University of Ibadan, God brought me, Emmanuel Adesuyi @cyrusunik1, and Emmanuel Dairo to a humble flat in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. We weren’t just flatmates but passionate leaders serving as executives at @fcnswz
Together, with hearts full of purpose, we took a deep and critical look at the struggles Nigerian nurses faced in engaging with research. It was here, inspired by God, that we dared to dream of something revolutionary. God led us to start an Institute that could nurture nurses in research and scholarly pursuits while uplifting families and communities through transformative development projects.
From the very beginning, the vision was audacious: an Institute not just for knowledge but one rooted in faith and community under the umbrella of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses South West Zone. It was new, bold, and unlike anything Nigeria had ever seen in the field. Naturally, there was skepticism. How many research studies have you conducted? How many publications do you have? What qualifies you to start an Institute? But the vision was too clear. Eight years down the line, it is clear that we saw the future.
The zone leadership—led by Revd. Olusegun Salako @revsegsal Nr. Olaoluwa Olabode @olaoluwartosin1 , Nr. Stephen Onoviran @stephenonovira and other brilliant minds—believed in the light that flickered within this vision. They saw beyond the criticisms, investing their trust, support, and faith in what we could become.
Eight years later, what started as a small initiative in the corner of South West Nigeria has blossomed into a global force. @inrnigeria now stands as a beacon in the academic world recognized far beyond the borders of Africa. Its impact is felt, its name is respected.
As my tenure as CEO draws to a close, I am filled with deep gratitude. To every leader, colleague, and partner I’ve had the honour of serving alongside, thank you. Your trust in me has been both humbling and empowering. As I step down, I leave with a heart full of memories, lessons, and an unshakeable confidence in the Institute’s future. Though I transition into new roles, my support and dedication to INR will remain steadfast.
To our esteemed Board Chair, Prof. @PriscaAdejumo DNS Dorcas Shonibare @DorcasSho2, and all other visionary board members — you stood by the vision when others wavered. Your belief in us has made all the difference.
As I hand the torch to Dr. Emmanuel Adesuyi, a leader of unwavering vision and passion, I know this marks the beginning of a new chapter of excellence for the Institute of Nursing Research.
To the nursing community across Nigeria, Africa, and the world: your support has been our lifeblood. Together, we’ve accomplished so much — and together, we’ll achieve even more.
Let’s write the next chapter!
Signed
Dr. Oluwadamilare Akingbade
CEO, Institute of Nursing Research (2016-2024)
🕰️ MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME ⏰ 🕰️
Get on your road 🛣️ on time and do not be a waster of time. Your life is packaged in pockets of time and you cannot afford to waste it. Time 🕰️ is the basic unit of living and wasting time is tantamount to wasting life. The Bible talks about redeeming the time for the days are evil. Anyone who wastes your time is wasting your life and wasting your most precious resource.
Time 🕰️ is one thing that God has given equally to all men. How you spend your time 🕰️ and how you utilise your time 🕰️ is what separates men into categories. What you translate every hour of your time to is what differentiates you from other people.
The Bible talks of the men of Issachar who knew what Israel should do per time 🕰️. These were men that understood the times. That’s why the Bible puts every event into time: time to war, time to make peace, time to rejoice, time to celebrate, time to love, and time to do many things. So, there is time for everything. Do not get trapped by time 🕰️ wasting projects or time 🕰️ wasting ventures.
If the devil can successfully waste your time, he has successfully wasted and limited your destiny.
This is a season you can no longer waste time. Get focused in the calling, get focused in church, get settled in that will of God that you are sure of now and stop wasting time so that you can arrive at your destination in life and destiny on time 🕰️ .
As soon as I got the call of God upon my life and I knew that God wanted me in the full-time ministry, I settled it and got on my road on time. I did not start looking for a job or while away time with other irrelevant programmes; I got on my road on time 🕰️.
Many people who God has shown that the Dream Centre is their family have wasted time playing buffoonery and perambulating all around until the devil cheated them and caused them major losses in life before they came in to settle down.
Get wise and get on your road on time. Embrace your cup even if it is a cup of suffering and start drinking it now when you are still young so that you can finish it on time. If you ever see anyone who is old still struggling to do what he should have finished doing as a young person, it is most likely not the devil’s fault, it is because such a person did not set to work at it on time 🕰️.
Imagine if I was just starting to think of coming into full-time ministry now – the Dream Centre would not be a blessing to the world at the level we are now.
Whether it is ministry, a course, marriage, a decision you need to take, do it on time. Don’t waste time procrastinating, get on your road on time 🕰️.
