Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro has pledged to bolster ties with Ethiopia and Djibouti, emphasizing their importance in enhancing Somaliland’s economic development, security, and regional cooperation.

Speaking at an event in Hargeisa on Sunday, President Irro lauded Ethiopia as a pivotal neighbor and long-standing ally. "Ethiopia is a long-standing friend and an indispensable partner in economic development, security, and fostering our relationships within Africa," he said. "It is crucial for us to enhance this relationship and its mutual benefits."

Irro also expressed optimism about rebuilding Somaliland's strained relations with Djibouti and advancing cooperation with the United States."We will strengthen our relations with Djibouti and the United States, two nations that have demonstrated significant interest in Somaliland," he added.

To the honorable people of Somaliland, both at home and abroad,

As we welcome the New Year 2025, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Somalilanders, including our dedicated civil servants, the courageous members of our armed forces, and their families.

I pray that Allah makes this year one of peace, prosperity, and significant achievements for our beloved Republic of Somaliland.
My fellow citizens,
The challenges ahead—be they in security, economic resilience, or social cohesion—require our collective resolve and unity. Together, with determination and cooperation, we can overcome these obstacles and realize our national aspirations.

As your President, I am committed to upholding unity, delivering tangible progress, and serving the people who have entrusted me with their confidence. My administration is guided by the principles of inclusivity and transparency, and my office remains open to your concerns, ideas, and constructive feedback.
