Escalating conflict along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border is having a devastating impact on civilians. Our country director in Afghanistan, Jacopo Caridi, reports on the situation at the Torkham Border.
In three days, NRC and other aid groups are kicked out of Israel.
Unless Israeli authorities reverse their decision, NRC’s ability to continue delivering life-saving assistance to Palestinians will become much more limited.
Since 2009, we have provided essential humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank, reaching over one million people in Gaza, and 100,000 on the West Bank, since October 2023.
This includes, in Gaza alone:
🟠Water and sanitation to over 500,000 people
🟠Shelter to almost 300,000 people
🟠Legal aid to over 50,000 people
International NGOs in Gaza collectively:
- Run 60% of field hospitals
- Run all the stabilisation centres for children with severe malnutrition
- Fund more than half of all mine and explosive hazard clearance
Life-saving work, hindered.
Dozens of the world’s best aid groups will lose registration and access.
Israel is pressing for something that we cannot comply with, namely the personal details of humanitarian workers.
We have offered numerous ways to have third parties review and check all our staff lists and vet all staff against all lists of sanctioned individuals.
But, we have always rejected similar attempts from parties in conflict areas around the world to limit the neutrality of our humanitarian work, and will continue to do so everywhere.
There are only 3 days to reverse this politicised and damaging attack on international humanitarian work.
Protection risks are rising. Aid is shrinking. #Rohingya refugees must not be forgotten.
We are on the ground in #Bangladesh with the Protection Consortium, ensuring access to protection services and helping communities build resilience.

We, the Rohingya, demand a safe zone in Arakan and urge the international community to intervene. No more genocide! Save the Rohingya from a second wave of violence. We want justice! #SaveRohingya#StopGenocide#JusticeForRohingya
@matthewfsmith Yes, like the rebel group AA, they called themselves the Arakan army and killed the innocent Rohingya people and tapped N targets the civilians so what we have to call them 🙏
Hundreds of Rohingya bodies, mostly women, girls - children, are found at sea, along beaches, and in forests, with many still floating in the ocean. They did nothing to provoke the terrorist AA. The world must take immediate action.
