I love this verse because it came from the descendants of Korah, whose ancestor rebelled against God and died (Numbers 16:1–35) while his sons were spared (Numbers 26:11). Despite that family history, they chose a life devoted to God. This Psalm shows that they valued God’s presence above everything else, even wealth, power, or comfort.

It reminds me that no matter where you come from or what your background is, what matters most is choosing God and His ways.

I would rather be a gatekeeper in God’s house, serving Him humbly, than enjoy a life of worldly pleasures disconnected from Him. One day in His courts is worth more than a thousand days chasing status or comfort anywhere else.
