@DapoAkandeLaw@CIJ_ICJ@PCA_CPA@FCDOGovUK @ Prof Dapo Akande, congratulations on this nomination. I have no doubt regarding your capacity to function effectively at the International Court of Justice.
@Bankole_Adeoye@AUC_PAPS Special greetings Ambassador Bankole. I must congratulate the entire ECOWAS Heads of States and including the AU under your leadership for taking such a bold move.
I think that the AU needs to work more closely with the ECOWAS in finding a lasting solution aside sanctions.
Given the fact that the International community is not able to replicate such Intervention amidst the killings of thousands of civilians in Myanmar by their own government further affirms the emptiness of Never Again as a basis of the RtoP.
The Mass atrocities against the civilian population in Myanmar without any serious attempt at deploying a Responsibility to Protect (RtoP) Intervention only goes to prove that the Libyan intervention was a smoke screen clothed under humanitarianism.
@Emekaprof The genocide against the Rohingyas have been endorsed even by the United Nations as the worst in recent times, and making the Rohingyas the most prosecuted ethnic group in the world. The recent military is just an angle of the the continous use of state sponsored violence
The ongoing mass atrocities by the Myanmar government against the civilian population once again provides the opportunity for the International Community to commence judicial prosecutions of those responsible for crimes against the Rohingyas and other citizens .
The United Nations must move beyond expressing worries about the situation in Myanmar to authorizing an RtoP Intervention to avoid a repeat of the genocide against the Rohingyas .....
It's high time the United Nations move beyond expressing worries to authorizing an RtoP Intervention in the interests of the civilian population in Myanmar.
