In his concluding remarks, Dr. Arvind Gupta, Director, VIF, thanked all the speakers and emphasised that BRICS is a continuing process. He noted that India’s Presidency is progressing well and expressed confidence that its initiatives and priorities will continue to take shape and gain momentum.

He identified two important dimensions of BRICS—the philosophical and the practical—emphasising that there is considerable capacity within BRICS countries that can be shared for greater cooperation and shared prosperity.

He suggested an AI dialogue among BRICS nations and called for a civilisational dialogue bringing India and other BRICS countries together. He also stressed the need to place greater emphasis on connectivity among BRICS countries, which would give the organisation greater visibility at the level of ordinary people.

Finally, he remarked that “BRICS has arrived” and reiterated that it is an ongoing process of expansion, enrichment, and cooperation.

Dr Arvind Gupta in the article talks about how the US is retreating from Globalism but not from global power. It remains influential, but on its own terms which is economically driven, selective in commitments and unapologetically self interested. He also focuses on how countries like India must adapt to this new, tougher and transactional America.

How will India react to US sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil? Will India now stop buying Russian oil? India's much celebrated strategic autonomy (Izzat) will now be tested.

H1B. We should invite Indian talent in mega missions like NSM, AI etc and ask our DRDO and armed forces to open up. We can absorb many high skilled Indians frombthe US in space AI, quantum, agriculture, environment, education, health, and skill sectors. India, wake up!

[Arvind Gupta @lbscidsa]

HIB visas row.
This is a God-sent opportunity to bring back talent we lost to the US. Indian government and industry should announce welcome back schemes. This is better than seeing Indians coming back in chains in military planes. Hope the government does not miss this chance.
