Dr Arvind Gupta in the article talks about how the US is retreating from Globalism but not from global power. It remains influential, but on its own terms which is economically driven, selective in commitments and unapologetically self interested. He also focuses on how countries like India must adapt to this new, tougher and transactional America.

How will India react to US sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil? Will India now stop buying Russian oil? India's much celebrated strategic autonomy (Izzat) will now be tested.
A thought-provoking, in-depth and very candid discussion on dear colleague Ambassador Abhay Kumar's book on Nalanda took place today.
Learnt much.
Thank you, VIF, for the invitation.
H1B. We should invite Indian talent in mega missions like NSM, AI etc and ask our DRDO and armed forces to open up. We can absorb many high skilled Indians frombthe US in space AI, quantum, agriculture, environment, education, health, and skill sectors. India, wake up!
HIB visas row.
This is a God-sent opportunity to bring back talent we lost to the US. Indian government and industry should announce welcome back schemes. This is better than seeing Indians coming back in chains in military planes. Hope the government does not miss this chance.
Glimpses from the talk by Ambassador @MukteshPardeshi, Embassy of the Republic of India, Ankara on India-Türkiye Relations in the Changing Dynamics held today @vifindia@IndiaInTurkiye
General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff delivered an insightful talk on his seminal book 'Ready, Relevant and Resurgent : A Blueprint for Transformation of India’s Military' at the Vivekananda International Foundation @vifindia.
In his address, #CDS explained that the book seeks to raise awareness, particularly within the uniformed community, about the sweeping changes being implemented to infuse #Jointness in the #IndianArmedForces, make them #FutureReady and strategically agile.
#CDS highlighted major reforms:-
🔹#TriServices integration at Defence Services Staff College
🔹 Accelerated Doctrine development
🔹 Online training & evaluation linked to career progression
🔹 Rank-agnostic #FutureWarfare courses open to services, academia & industry
🔹 Civilian faculty to bring academic rigour to #ProfessionalMilitaryEducation
🔹 E-library system for shared knowledge resources across Services
CDS reiterated that true #Atmanirbharta lies in creating indigenous systems to maintain surprise and strategic advantage, and that collaboration between services, Departments under #MoD, #DRDO, #ISRO, #NTRO and others was already showing results.
With a sequel to the book already in the works, General Chauhan concluded with a powerful message; "India’s military transformation is not just structural - it’s a cultural and cognitive shift rooted in both Shastra and Shastra".

“A prospective peace agreement between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin can introduce fresh strategic complexities for Japan, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. While a deal that de-escalates tensions in Europe could enable the US to reallocate military and diplomatic resources toward countering China in theory, its broader implications remain uncertain….” analyses, Prerna Gandhi, for National Security Journal, Vol 8 Issue 2 (April-June 2025).
