LIVING ON THE EDGE: The human, economic cost of coastal erosion in Lagos
The raging ocean lapped harshly against the broken walls of what used to be Oluwanifemi Olanrewaju’s family house as she stood with hands folded behind her, watching the damp ruins that remained of her ancestral home in Okun-Ajah, a coastal community in the Lekki-Epe area of Lagos.
Olanrewaju’s home was among the many houses and businesses destroyed by the coastal erosion that began in March. The walls that once sheltered generations of her family now lie beneath the sea, leaving behind open graves and a painful emptiness where her only inheritance once stood.
The 34-year-old widow had barely gotten to work on that fateful Tuesday morning in April when she received a call that her home, which she had left not long ago, had been washed away by the Atlantic Ocean surge.

He is right. ANYBODY (Nigerian) can contest for public office in any state, regardless of where they come from.
However, it is the prerogative of party officials/residents/indigenes of the said place to vote for them or not.
You cannot stop people from contesting.

@Real1_balogun What is the incentive to brave the European winter, racism and a different culture? What? For the national team to prosper? That is not nearly good enough an incentive.
They get good enough wages at home. Have family and in their own culture. Why leave all these?
“Even when you show your valid papers, they will still harass you. I will start all over again now that I’m back to Nigeria.” — repatriated Nigerian speaks on South African ordeal
With 10 countries representing, can Africa finally win World Cup in 2026?
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is upon us in North America, a tournament that has been dominated by European and South American nations since its inception. Forty-eight nations are ready to chase the gold trophy, but Africa looks set to end the continental drought and add more drama to a tournament that has chosen chaos before a ball has been kicked.
Africa's elite, led by Senegal and Morocco, have shed their long-standing tactical naivety and are replete with genuine world-class talent.

War, hunger, and now aid cuts: Nigeria’s malnourished children surviving on hope
Hamsatu Isa was barely 20 years old when Boko Haram captured Gwoza, Borno state, north-east Nigeria, and declared the community their caliphate. It was a bloodbath, a massacre still etched in her memory as though it were yesterday. The once peaceful and thriving town fell to its knees at dawn in August 2014. Hundreds of residents were killed, many fled, houses were torched, and young girls were abducted.
While some men disguised themselves as women to escape Gwoza, Hamsatu’s father was not so fortunate and could not escape with his family. He was gunned down. Hamsatu, her siblings, and mother joined a group of people fleeing the community. They trekked a long distance, first to Madagali town in neighbouring Adamawa state, before they finally found their way to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
