@DesertSonNawdar Dem held the bottle by the neck and tipped it away from him, studying the liquor inside. Not that he particularly knew what he was doing.
"Thanks," he said fondly, thumbing the bottle. "That was... nice of you."
From his tone, it was clear he was still unused to presents.
@DuskDwellers@DesertSonNawdar "I... I'd rather bleed by his hand than yours," Dem managed to half whisper as he stared in horror at the eye that watched him.
"I would —" he began, pausing to take a steadying breath. "— trust him a thousand times over before I would trust you."
@DesertSonNawdar - right way?" He flustered, turning the map round and looking up the sky as if he had any clue to what he was doing.
"Look, if anything happens, if there's any guards, this map doesn't exist. I shouldn't have it, so I just hope we get this right."
@DuskDwellers@DesertSonNawdar - in his chest, but he tried to spit out his words regardless. Whatever this evil spirit was, it would have him, Nadir or their blood.
@DuskDwellers@DesertSonNawdar "He's... he's my friend," Dem said softly, desperately trying to regain power over his knees which almost bucked under the djinn's touch.
"M... my blood is of these lands, and it doesn't need to be spilled to prove that."
His words were still shaky, and his heart hammered hard-
@DuskDwellers@DesertSonNawdar "Ehhhhh?" Dem questioned in a pitch far higher than he normally spoke.
If he was was of normal mind, of rational mind, he would have told the djinn where to proverbially stick it. But being as he was, he still remained rooted to the spot and fear stricken.
Though, with great -
As the festivities and merrymaking drew to a close, little Wulf fast asleep and several of the wedding guests now throughly drunk, Dem approached Signý and attempted to offer Wulf back into her arms. @MiddleEarthRP
@MiddleEarthRP "Well, I thought you'd want to put him to bed and get some sleep without me disturbing you? Or aren't you going to bed yet?" Dem asked, not having many opportunities to lay Wulf down for the night.
Dem thought about the statement for a minute, sucking his teeth in contemplation. Then he took Wulf from her arms, picked up a tankard of ale, and went to find a seat where he was less likely to drop either one.
Signý half danced, half bounced her way over to Dem as he still held Wulf in her arms.
"You can have ONE drink," she said lowly to him, "Then you can take Wulf from me. He's getting too heavy."
Dem looked at the barrels of ale and the bottles of wine readily available sporadically dotted between platters of food. But then catching sight of Brom he turned, and watched Brom's gaze as he very slowly, and very deliberately, shook his head in warning.
