GUNMEN KIDNAP OYO HEADMASTER DEMAND ₦30m RANSOM Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a 60-year-old headmaster in Oyo State and are demanding ₦30 million for his release. The victim, Mr. Owoade Matthew Kolawole, headmaster of Nomadic Basic School, Igbojaye, was taken on Saturday, July 11, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in Igbojaye, Itesiwaju LGA.

According to family members, the abductors called shortly after using the headmaster’s phones to make the ransom demand. The victim’s son, Mr. Owoade Abiola, said the Nigeria Police, Amotekun Corps, and local vigilantes were immediately notified. A joint search was carried out through the night, but the headmaster was not found. On Sunday, July 12, at about 8:20 a.m., the team recovered his abandoned motorcycle in a nearby bush. The family has urged security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue him and arrest those behind the abduction.
