I cap my risk at 1% of my total account per trade. I place my stop-loss just beyond the nearest structural support/resistance or recent swing point, and calculate my position size based on that distance.

When volatility widens my stop, my size shrinks proportionally—keeping my dollar loss fixed regardless of market conditions.
