I listened to this man talk about what happened completely in the full video and honestly, the more I listened, the more confused I became.
He said they got their Canadian residency, he resigned from his banking job because the plan was for the family to move to Canada, and his wife and four children left before him. He said the bank was auditing his position, so he had to stay back, and that the audit took almost a year.
Okay, fair enough. But then he eventually travelled to Canada in November 2014 and said he got to Calgary airport and didn’t even know where his wife and children were staying. How?
That is the part I genuinely don’t understand. If this was a family that was supposed to move to Canada together, how did it get to the point where the man eventually arrived in Canada and couldn’t even locate his own wife and four children?
Because if the bank wasn’t auditing him and he had travelled to Canada with his wife and children from the beginning, this would have been a completely different situation.
And this is not someone who had never dealt with institutions before. He worked in a bank and had experience in that environment. At one point, he wanted to become President of Nigeria. So you’re telling me he got to Canada and couldn’t find a way to navigate the situation or get help locating his family?
Even if you don’t understand the Canadian system, surely there are people around you. Friends, family, lawyers or immigration people. Somebody who can tell you what to do.
And then he says his children stopped communicating with him. He said he could send an email to one of his sons and the boy might not even read it for three, four or five months.
Again, what happened? That's exactly why I’m asking questions. Because then you have a woman who, according to his own account, was a full time housewife, not working, who went to Canada with four children and somehow started a new life there.
And people just want everyone to accept the story without asking how everything actually worked?
How did she manage everything after arriving? Who was helping her? What happened between the two of them while he was still in Nigeria? What happened during that almost one year before he eventually travelled? What happened between the husband and wife that got them from planning a life together in Canada to him arriving there and not even knowing where his family was?
These are very normal questions. But because people have already decided that this is “woman bad, man innocent,” nobody wants to ask them.
There are clearly things we don’t know. Maybe there is a perfectly good explanation for all of it. Maybe there are things the man hasn’t told us. Maybe the woman’s side would completely change the way people are looking at this. I don’t know.
But after listening to that interview, I definitely don’t feel like that's enough information to draw a conclusion. The timeline alone has too many gaps.
Something happened between that family leaving Nigeria and this man eventually arriving in Canada. That’s the part of the story I want to hear. Because right now, something just doesn’t add up completely.
@NgComCommission@CommissionNg please look into this complaint I made to @AirtelNigeria since on the 5th of June about my ODU network and it is yet to be resolved
Look at my Speedtest this morning
Hello @NgComCommission,
I have complained several times to @AirtelNigeria concerning their poor network and they keep saying they will work on it.
They only reply me when I complain under a tweet and they ghost me again till further notice.
@AirtelNigeria@NgComCommission I have done that and got this result from the speed test but I still can’t stream videos online without the constant buffering
