@dexblackout@skoolipad yes but marxists dont conceptualise communism as a static end point to be achieved, nor as a rigid doctrine or checklist. it is the process of the proletariat pursuing their class interests, which in China they, through the CPC, have chosen to do via an NEP-like economy
@alex98982678@NoahProoval@Tzn747 there are surviving roman-era paintings and frescoes of egyptians from that period and they look just like egyptians today. just because arabised egyptians speak another language doesn't mean theres not continuity
@whitefeelimgs you can literally just ask chatgpt what the proponents of landback actually advocate. literally just look into it for two singular minutes.
On the reactions to this: the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma is entirely on legally-recognized indigenous reservations - Creek, Cherokee, and Osage. European-Americans have not exactly been expelled from the city of Tulsa.
sidenote, folks understand indigenous nations aren’t, like, westphalian exclusive-territory nation-states, right? that’s not how that worked lol. at least not usually. you’d think any chance to deconstruct westphalian notions of nationhood would be exciting to internationalists
Chauvinist leftists talk about Land Back as if it's a single, unified movement, when in reality it's a range of struggles taking place across the globe, each with its own specific characteristics. Any sweeping statement that tries to paint Land Back as one single thing is wrong.
@theblacklenin I'll have a read!
I also did my undergrad thesis on decolonial land reform actually (though it was about Algeria, South Africa and Cuba, not the USA)
@zuozheng0@aelita1917 it seems to work pretty well? preferential treatment in education, no 1 child policy, reserved spots for political representation, autonomy in language policy, cultural preservation and local economic planning, preferential infrastructure investment? this seems like a good system
@friendinrussian getting dragged into arguing with people on this and so much of it is basically just "oh so you think white people shouldn't be able to vote then? oh so you want to deport all white people?" like these people don't even try to understand what the point is
@aelita1917 i mean ideally this would happen in the cultural context of a socialist revolution, such that the majority is amenable to redistribution of land, education and administrative reform and so on. in this situation MAGAtards would all be in reeducation camps
@wildviper121@aelita1917 notice how those are two separate points? and two separate photos besides?? honor the treaties, and also honor tribal sovereignty. does not imply that exclusive tribal sovereignty should extend to the entirety of the unceded land. stop being uncharitable and try thinking.
@wildviper121@aelita1917 do you think that is an actual proposition to all the lands to be redistributed? or maybe you can read the title and see what it actually depicts. practise some critical thinking, please.
@wildviper121@aelita1917 nobody lives on national or state parks, military bases can be cleared, farm and pasture land can be requisitioned. The vast majority of land is not built-up dwellings.
there is lots of research on what kinds of affirmative action and reparations are effective
