How can you tax unrealised wealth?
To pay the tax, Elon will have to sell, which will then crash the value of his shares, leading to less tax revenue.
You, Ro, are now the richest trader after Pelosi. You haven't created any jobs but are a millionaire from stock trades.
If we tax 5% of your wealth, Los Angeles could afford to clean the needles off its streets.
Regardless of this man's condemnable tweet, this is a dangerous precedent that further empowers Nigerian Politicians & "elites" to silence critics in an already Authoritarian regime
In a free society, defamation is a civil offense, not a criminal one. Nigeria must repeal such laws!
JUST IN: social media user Mr SAMUEL ADEBOYE ADEYEYE aka Swanky_concept has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment after pleading guilty for spread long misinformation with malicious intent about Adekunle Gold and Simi’s daughter
Fellow Nigerians, good morning.
I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.
Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.
We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.
More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.
We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.
Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.
Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.
However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.
Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.
And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.
There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?
Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.

"Sexual compatibility" is a man-made construct. It didn't even exist until about five minutes ago.
Husbands and wives are sexually compatible by virtue of God creating husbands male and wives female. If there are issues, you lovingly work it out together, end of story.
This is ridiculous nonsense.
It is like saying that drunk driving is not the only reason for road accidents, so we should not speak up against it. Like, "When has not being drunk stopped people from crashing their cars while driving?". Your ludicrous stance is that cohabitation is not the only reason for fornication, so we should not speak against it. Nonsense.
Stealing is a sin. Pride is a sin. etc. Speaking up against one sin does not mean I embrace other sins. Neither do I need to mention all other sins in order to mention cohabitation as a sin.
Nonsense.
You can promote cohabitation with your full, sexual-immorality-drenched chest but leave the bible and Christianity out of it.
There is such a thing as Christian morality. For Christians, the bible commands us to both "FLEE fornication" and to "Abstain from all APPEARANCE of evil." Cohabitation provides a cheap context for fornication to thrive.
If fornication is not a sin in your universe, you live in a debauched universe. Your convictions are not Christian. And it is okay. Just don't conflate them with Christianity.
Nonsense.
“Virginity does not guarantee a happy marriage”
Well, neither does sexual promiscuity
But you know what will give your marriage a higher chance of survival?
A sexually disciplined spouse who will not cheat on you
I’ll pick that option on any given day.
See personal handle of INEC chairman. This is the man they're handing over billions of our money to supposedly conduct a free and fair election. A man who's supposed to be non-partisan is an APC rogue #AmupitanMustResign
Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame.
What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed.
Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character.

Jos attack is another evidence of failed leadership..
Leadership that prioritizes politics over protection of lives..
Choosing rather to waste our collective patrimony in pre-election jamboree and pre-coronation plans..
Posterity will judge a leadership that now emboldens, enables and replicates what it once vehemently condemned..
I believe in the power of prayers but prayers won’t replace responsibility..
We need humane leaders..
These current folks have zero affiliation with empathy…
We are tired..it’s depressingly exhausting.
We stand with the families who lost loved ones and pray for fortitude to bear the irreparable loss..
And for those who will engage this tweet to support failed leadership for the crumbs they offer you,pls show your irritation via good grammar..
So even if I am irritated by your intentional delusion,I would be encouraged by your mastery of words..
AJS.
Thank you @Urchilla01
This is the concerted & unrelenting effort it takes to drive societal change
And for those who pushed ethnic hatred, violence & continue to support this genocidal APC regime,we'll be here to uphold history & hold u to account well after ur paymasters are gone
I'm very proud to say that I wrote two detailed emails to the German government and embassy on this account.
God help me, I will write more to whichever country he's redeployed to, unless it's a Banana Republic like Nigeria. Him mind no go touch ground
@sopuruchn I hope your friends know that 12+ Christians were massacred yesterday in Plateau?
While decrying the policies of another govt that owes us NOTHING, we may want direct more of that to Nigerian regime that degraded the nation's socioeconomic status
Ghana has no visa restrictions!
@DeleFarotimi And why don't you have diverse independent reporting, Sir? Could that have anything to do with their regime blocking internet access for citizens? Or is that on imperialism too?
If your conscience isn’t pricked by the mockery of a widow - and you find yourself enjoying it, laughing, reveling in it - you are in the darkest possible place spiritually. You’ve been given over.
@AndrewKolvet From TPUSA? This is so disheartening! Do you have to discard basic decency just for political "stanning"?
Wonder if you'd call it "exchange of words" if people said they "understood the attack" on Charlie Kirk, then brazenly doubled down because they disagreed with him politically
2023 presidential elections.
Peter Obi was good, refused to play dirty, has the votes and won so many states for the person contesting under a new party. Voters came out to vote him, pastor Paul eneche almost lost his voice praying for him to win. His online and offline supporters were hungry for his leadership. But one Yeye old falling man was declared the winner in the middle of the night. I wailed that night and still had hope in judiciary but they failed me and all Nigerians. That was when I knew life is unfair to ordinary citizens of Nigeria.
@asemota@Dr_Ebubedike If thats true,CBS/Colbert could have easily given JC (not even an R) equal time & let's see FCC interfere. How difficult was that?
It was they who chose a candidate here, just like the establishment ousted Bernie in 2016 & 2020
Maybe his heresy would fly in Nov. What do I know...
Before Nigerians get exultant,Mehdi Hassan isn't ur friend! He recently dismissed d genocide in Nigeria as "imaginary"
While u mock Bwala, BAT remains President! And we allowed a new electoral law that eroded any democratic means of deposing him.Jibes alone will NOT take BAT out!
