@onduhungirehe Tel père tel fils!
A FEW MOMENTS LATER...
QUESTION:

Editorial: MUSEVENI’S LEGACY!
During the last joint EAC-SADC Summit, the defeated South African President came in late, saber-rattling: “SADC should ramp-up its force for a round two with M23”, he said, Tshisekedi cheering him on zoom, all the way from Kinshasa.
Zambia’s HH interjected:
“Wait a minute! I have the longest border with DRC. If you go into an open war with M23, you will use my airspace, possibly base. That will expose Zambia to possible retaliation, and I have no intention of throwing my country into war”.
Pensive, ED Mnangagwa recalled, “You see, in the first Congo war, in 1998, I was Minister of Defense. As Angolan and Namibian colleagues would recall, we went in to support Kabila on arguments much similar to Tshisekedi’s.
The war drained our resources, causing a hyperinflation to Zimbabwe, but no lasting solution has come out of it, obviously.
The DRC had committed to compensate our war effort, it’s been over two decade and we are still waiting. We will not do that mistake again!”
Cautious as usual, Tanzania was unconvinced that war was the right course of action and urged total SAMIDRC withdrawal, followed by direct dialogue between Kinshasa and M23.
Tshisekedi rejected the offer, started on “M23 does not exist, it is a foreign force from Rwanda, yare yare, then he heard, “Felix!”, in a commanding voice…”
Silence fell on the room, Tshisekedi’s proverbial wings had been clipped on take off, before he could reach his perversive climax: “it is Rwanda stealing our minerals...”
Museveni had been silent the whole time, he cleared his throat: “You see, the advantage of being the elder among you, is to know history! Those boys are home. They are no foreigners. You must negotiate with them!”
And to proceed, that piece of land belonged to the kingdom of Rwanda.
You see, in Uganda we have “Ebirunga”, in Rwanda, “Ibirunga” and in Congo: “Ibirunga”.
It means “Volcano” in our joint mother tongues. I don’t know how it is called in yours.
The boys are fighting on home turf, you cannot defeat them!”
And to finish off in signature M7: “If you don’t know the meaning of certain areas in your country, just know that those areas have their owners”…
“I felt like standing up to clap”, a fly on the wall confesses to me…
Done with young Felix and Cyril, the Elder turned to his peers:
“Colleagues, this is an ethnic war. As you know, the Congolese Tutsi are being targeted by FDLR. M23 is defending them.
Some of us won’t seat back and watch what happened in Rwanda to happen again in Congo!”
I am told President Kagame was in awe! He felt no need to shoot at the ambulance that was Tshisekedi and left at it at that.
Tshisekedi, Ndayishimiye and Ramaphosa’s dreams for a “Third Congo War” were thus dead at birth.
In Dar-Es-Salam, Kaguta Museveni had stepped into the shoes of his Late mentor, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
He collected his hat and bid everyone goodbye, as the saying goes, “form is temporary, class is permanent”!

President of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera has ordered the withdrawal of Malawi Defence Force (MDF) troops from DR Congo.
The MDF troops were part of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) force deployed to the DRC.
South Africans deserve to know the truth. You are not supporting the people of DRC to achieve peace. You are sending your troops to fight President Tshisekedi’s war to kill his own people. And this kind of statement only makes the Congolese president more intransigent, while the suffering continues. Please tell your people the truth about the personal interests in mining that you have in the DRC – these are the interests for which, sadly, SANDF soldiers are dying.
Happy Heroes Day! Today, we honour our national heroes who upheld the very values of unity, truth, and justice that define our country today. It is the responsibility of all of us, young and old, to face challenges with fearlessness and integrity, to stand up for what is right and to continue building a nation that defies all expectations.
