@shanselman I’ve been using omnipod with loop for a few years. No plan to ever go back to tubed pumps. One advantage is how many more sites I can use - without tube logistics. #T1D
@holly_cummins ‘Collateral benefit’ opposite of ‘collateral damage’? It’s in urban dictionary, but also apparently has a specific legal meaning…. https://t.co/2kT4twsayv
@KateFarnsworth Back 30+ years ago in uni, I took 1 or 2 long acting shots a day and basically tried not to die, while completing undergrad and grad comp sci. Been looping a few years now and not looking back. Proud and grateful for this community and all that they do to improve lives.
Now that I have 100K followers, I want to talk about #OvarianCancer. Specifically my gritty story. The goal is awareness. I hope you find this narrative informative.
@kgb1001001 @Grady_Booch Misread and thought you got vaccinated at your favourite coffee shop in the middle of your run, and I was like “Well that’s cool! and also 🤔.” I can’t wait for second jabs to roll out here, but I’m grateful for the one I’ve had.
@diabetesdaily@BeyondType1 Are CGMs funded in any country? In Canada, they are not (as far as I know.) This, and other diabetes supplies are a big part of all financial planning, including retirement planning, for me.
@Jazzsethi95 After 36 yrs of #T1D, I started looping a little over a year ago - Omnipod + Dexcom + Loop. Same results. Truly life changing. #WeAreNotWaiting
Be sure to check out this panel I’m moderating for OpenShift Commons! If you’re interested in #OpenShift, #Kubernetes, #knative, or #Istio, this session will cover it all!
@holly_cummins I was so confounded by this test, if it was the same!! I had to order sets of 3 and some items were negative so if I ordered them last, did that mean I did do them (double negative??) or I really really didn’t?!
@holly_cummins@lornajane@monkchips@twilio@cotufa82 If monitoring someone else, yep. The alerts I get work over Bluetooth - even on planes with no wifi. With some of the open source looping solutions you can also set overrides remotely - so, two way.
@holly_cummins@lornajane@monkchips@twilio@cotufa82 That is a cool use case. I do use Nightscout and a bunch of other apps and devices (think Borg), but I only need to look after myself. SMS integration would be helpful when monitoring others in places with poor connectivity.
