The historical Cape Town Pier, also known as the Old Pier, was a significant landmark in Cape Town, South Africa. It was completed in 1910 and served as a social gathering point for Capetonians.

The pier included a pavilion where ballet and classical music concerts were hosted. This made it a popular destination for leisure activities and entertainment. The Old Pier was demolished in 1939 to make way for the foreshore development, which involved the reclamation of land from Table Bay.

This project reshaped the coastal landscape of Cape Town, leading to the construction of roads, infrastructure, and high-rise buildings in the area where the pier once stood.

Today, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (@CTICC_Official) occupies the site where the Old Pier once stood.

However, the discovery of the structural remains of the pier during the CTICC's expansion in 2017 highlighted its historical significance. The CTICC has since agreed to incorporate the remains of the pier in a display within the center, acknowledging the pier's position and recognizing the dramatic changes that have occurred in the foreshore area since 1948.
