SONY WILL FALL. Remember my words. I will explain why.
Today PlayStation is seen as untouchable with around 130 million active users. But that is only a snapshot in time. There are many reasons why a company that looks unstoppable today can struggle tomorrow.
I have used this example several times already, but it fits perfectly:
From 1998 to 2011 Nokia dominated the mobile phone market. At one point, they controlled around 40% of the global market. Forty fucking percent! For comparison, Apple’s current smartphone market share is around 20%. Of course the market is much bigger today, but Nokia’s dominance was still enormous. People thought Nokia was untouchable. They became confident, even arrogant. While competitors were already moving ahead, Nokia believed consumers would never leave them. After all, why would people switch away from a brand they had trusted for years huh?
The answer was simple: consumers chose better products.
Some people will say: „But PlayStation has no real competition.” That is only partly true. There are alternatives like Steam, Steam Deck, other handheld PCs, Nintendo, Xbox and potentially new competitors in the future. Just because the situation looks impossible today does not mean it will stay that way forever. A better product can always change the market.
Sony is losing the connection with its customers. Under the new leadership, it feels less like a relationship between players and PlayStation and more like a relationship between shareholders and PlayStation. The focus appears to have shifted from satisfying customers to maximizing investor value. And yes Sony is taking advantage of the GTA VI moment and realistically it will work. GTA VI will likely bring massive profits and make PlayStation look stronger than ever over the next few years.
But remember: there is a time after GTA VI.
First, GTA VI is not exclusive. It will also release on Xbox, and eventually it will most likely come to PC. Second, what PlayStation truly lacks is a consistent lineup of system selling IPs. That was even said by CEO of Sony Hiroki Totoki
Name a Sony franchise today that can move millions of consoles by itself. God of War and Spider-Man are huge but releases are years apart. Uncharted is basically inactive. The Last of Us takes many years between releases. Astro Bot is fantastic, but it does not have the cultural impact of Mario. Gran Turismo is respected, but it is not a mass market console seller.
Nintendo has Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, Splatoon, Animal Crossing and many other franchises that can sell millions.
Microsoft despite its questionable decisions, should not be underestimated. They own an incredible portfolio of games like Halo, Forza Horizon, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Diablo, Minecraft, Wolfenstein and many more.
Right now, PlayStation is in a very strong position. But strength today does not guarantee dominance tomorrow.
The future of @PlayStation cannot rely on one massive game or one generation of success. A company needs strong products, strong relationships with its customers and innovation.
History has shown us one thing, no company is untouchable. Maybe only the biggest companys like Google, MS or NVidia but Sony is far away from being that.
Thank you
Best Regards

The "no-disc, no-buy" movement is over. Instead, people should focus on legislation to strengthen digital ownership. That's where the energy needs to go, not on shitposting.
lmao Sony don't give af about y'all ineffective protests. Y'all are still going to be signed up to ps plus ultra mega and buy gta 6 definitive edition for $10,000 next year

sony ends disc production for every new playstation game in january 2028.
a new release becomes a download, or a box with a code in it.
the petition is approaching 350,000 verified names.
sony's public reply, twenty-six days in: nothing.
so the community stopped asking politely.
engagement is the number sony leads with every quarter, ahead of hardware.
the published figure only samples the last month of a quarter.
the internal dashboards read every single day.
a week-shaped hole in late august lands on someone's desk long before
november does.
a petition needs sony to choose to read it.
an empty server counts itself.

I know I hold the record for getting porn thieves pages perma banned. I real deal search and destroy. If you steal even one Lavah Moon video I'll find you or someone will, and trust that they let me or Lavah know.
@PlayOverwatch My fav part was Unistalling Overwatch and Diablo 4 for canceling stadium mode. Trying Marathon pve and purchasing the new Avatar fighting game
@PlayOverwatch@aaronkellerOW I'm not buying anything blizzard related if you all are not going to keep updating stadium with new heroes. Not going to support my fav mode? Well then I won't support the game/company financially.
