Four years since #EndSars, LASG has refused to release body of the 20yr old photo journalist Pelumi Onifade who was haunted, klled for filming a grassroot APC politician shoot live at protesters.
Pelumi captured the gruesome moment Abiodun Bolarinwa pulled out a gun, and ended innocent lives at Abule Egba.
Apparently, Olusegun Abiodun Bolarinwa the President of the Yoruba Youth Forum went there to calm and control the protesting crowd.
But they figured he was attempting to use them to boost his political profile, so they ignored and asked him to leave.
Following the rejection, in the heat, he brought out a pump action, shot two in the air. Got down from his SUV, walked towards the vulnerable crowd and shot six times, allegedly resulting to the death of two people.
The story would have been a rumor, but Pelumi Onifade who is the only son of his single mother, was on ground to capture the whole event on tape for GboahTV.
As the video went viral, later that evening, men of Lagos Task Force (Police) haunted and arrested the 20yr old Pelumi, hours later he was found dead in a mortuary at Ikorodu.
Since then, Lagos state government has frustrated every efforts from his single mother to collect his body for proper burial, ranging from random DNA tests to prove she (Bose Onifade) was his real mother, down to frivolous excuses from officials. As police reportedly refused to investigate the case.
According to eye witness, the other victims chose to remain silent, out of fear and threats.
Although, in 2022 Olusegun Abiodun Bolarinwa was arraigned and sentenced. Mr Abiodun perpetrated a N266.5 million fraud in 2020 claiming to be former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s son and pitching for appointment as the Chief of Army Staff.
He was sentenced to 7yrs imprisonment, but many assume he isn't doing the time, due to the Idris Okuneye saga.
Lagos police have been reluctant to open investigations concerning his role in Pelumi's demise. But last August, a federal high court finally ordered an investigation be carried out to understand why he was arrested by the police alive and later found dead.
