@ImKaylahB is working up a storm at the #TAGC poster session tonight! If you don't catch her in the next 30 minutes, find @MengjiaMLin tomorrow to hear more about the work we do in @TheHanlonLab
Since we have such a "stellar" crew, we decided to B the Solar System for Halloween! NOTE: planets and distances not to scale. With grad students @ImKaylahB and Shania (@MengjiaMLin in spirit), rotons Jasmine, Edward, and Alex, and undergraduates @ryanmgado, Annette, and Louise.
What could "B" more wonderful than one awesome @UConnMCB Ph.D. rotation students working in the lab? How about TWO! Thanks to Maddy (left) and Alex (right) for checking out the Hanlon Lab this rotation cycle! Also thanks to their B-team mentors, @ImKaylahB and @MengjiaMLin!
Emma, our NSF REU student, did an awesome job sharing her summer research exploring how Wolbachia affects B chromosome transmission. Her results show that Wolbachia infection may suppress drive of the Bs! Thanks for B-ing with us, Emma!
To pass her Ph.D. qualifying exam, @ImKaylahB had to bring her "B" game - and she did! Congratulations to @UConnMCB Ph.D. *candidate*, Kaylah! We're all proud of you!
Thanks to Dr. Lisa Nigro for snapping this pic :)
We are B-yond thrilled that our work on the drive of #BChromosomes in Drosophila melanogaster is officially published in Current Biology! https://t.co/ArDagWkyaX
Huge props to Dr. Patrick Ferree for writing a fantastic Dispatch to go along with it! https://t.co/Dt8siBCvky
Lab members @ImKaylahB@MengjiaMLin@ryanmgado and @SKalladanthyil are excited to be here representing the Hanlon Lab at the coolest club in town! #UConnFlyClub was an amazing success this year 🪰 Thanks to @centromellone and Jianjun Sun for organizing!
It’s a wrap! Wonderful day of cell division biology at BAMM 2023 . Thank you to all participants for making it such a fun and successful meeting, as well as fantastic co-organizers Lily Kabeche @KabecheLab and Dan Needleman, and our lab members. #BAMM#Meiosis#Mitosis
Great job at the final @UConnMCB RIPS of the semester, @MengjiaMLin! (fourth from the right) She presented some B-utiful images of meiosis in her pursuit to study how the B chromosomes move during the female meiotic divisions. We're so proud!
Both posters from stellar undergrads @ryanmgado and @ShellChen01 & Ayushi P. were B-yond awesome! Great job at Spring Frontiers! Thanks to @UConnOUR for hosting the event.
Thanks to @SteveZDeLuca for coming to the @UConnMCB Seminar Series to share his lab's work investigating silencing during early female oogenesis. It was a great talk with a lot of elegant experimental design, and I'm glad I got to host you!
