massive headaches the past couple days & can't focus. coffee withdrawals? lack of sleep? early onset tinnitus? not getting any sun? too much smoke? getting sick? dehydration? looking at the screen too much? all of the above???????
internet peeps called last minute yesterday night telling me theyre gonna do maintenance anytime from 7am-4pm. internet's down now and based on my experience i'm confident society would collapse if the internet were shut off for a week
being able to thoroughly review PRs is a skill in itself, similar to being able to 'pick up code quickly'. itd be interesting to see what the impact is of having a designated person reviewing PRs as a full-time job

gonna start using this platform as a personal (dev) journal and brain dump more liberally. been seeing a lot of interesting tweets that end up going over my head because i don't have a log of them anywhere โ๏ธโ๏ธ
When you're teaching something you can't just say "and we have to do this and I don't know why." You have to dig and figure out why, which is the reason you learn a LOT more about a thing when teaching it than you do when just using it.

Day 17 of #javascript30. Pretty simple task again today. Used regex to trim common words, sorted a list, and displayed the list on the UI.
Definitely should familiarize myself more with basic regex so I don't have to google it every time ๐๐

Day 16 of #javascript30. This one gave me serious bill wurtz vibes ๐๐
Came back from the #react Training workshop today, so motivation is peaking right now ๐ช๐ช๐ช
Answer: 80
Object.assign creates a SHALLOW copy. Any keys deeper than the first level are copied BY REFERENCE.
References are just pointers to the original var. Any changes to the reference value will update the original var!

Day 14 of #javascript30. Solidified some knowledge of copying by reference vs value. Try this one out ๐๐
let p1 = {
hobby: '๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ',
other: {
age: 23
}
}
let p2 = Object.assign({}, p1)
p2.other.age = 80
What's p1.other.age?
Highly suggest @ReactTraining to any developer. Itโs an fantastic opportunity to connect with other developers with diverse backgrounds, and a great learning environment with so much shared interest!
Oh, and @cassidoo and @ryanflorence are pretty awesome, too โบ๏ธ

Day 15 of #javascript30. Revisited some concepts about localStorage (a local browser cache API) and event delegation.
Event delegation is powerful pattern for if you want an event handler on a parent element to apply to all its child elements. ๐๐๐
