Cutting sugar during pregnancy and early childhood protects the brain decades later.
A breakthrough study leveraged the UK’s historical sugar rationing as a natural experiment to study the first 1,000 days of life (conception through age 2).
The findings on lifelong brain health are striking:
▶️Key Findings in Later Life:
✅Alzheimer’s Disease: Up to 46% lower risk
✅All-Cause Dementia: 27% lower risk (and onset delayed by ~2.5 years)
✅Depression: 11% lower risk
✅Anxiety: 20% lower risk
▶️MRI Brain findings were amazing too:
Brain MRI scans revealed decelerated brain aging in those with early-life sugar restriction:
✅Higher total gray matter volume
✅Larger hippocampal (memory center) and thalamus volumes
✅Lower white matter hyperintensities (fewer microvascular brain changes)
Why Does Early Sugar Consumption Matter So Much?
1. Fetal & Infant Neurodevelopment: Excess sugar in early life triggers insulin resistance, maternal hyperglycemia, and systemic inflammation, impairing early synaptic maturation.
2. Preventing Midlife Disease: Early low-sugar environments lower the risk of midlife Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension, which jointly account for ~25% of dementia risk.
3. Lifelong Taste Preferences: Children with low early sugar intake naturally develop less preference for sweet, ultra-processed foods as adults.
Takeaway for Expectant Mothers & Parents:
🔸The first 1,000 days lay the neurobiological foundation for life.
✅Eliminating added and free sugars during pregnancy and avoiding introduced sugars for infants/toddlers protects cognitive and mental health 50+ years down the line!

Only make three changes in Govt jobs, especially for bureaucrats and see how India's growth story starts flying.
> Just like corporate jobs make a 6 months performance review cycle of Govt employees, stop hike if not performing and give good hike for performers.
> Stop the transfer game as punishment, if caught doing something wrong at job, just fire them and if money is involved then put fine as well. Once job is at risk, corruption will reduce significantly.
> Automate workflow as much as possible, cut manual approval system, less human in approval chain, less corruption, faster work.
He brought class & intellect to the table while dealing with global leaders and tackle economy.
Not afraid of random press conferences anywhere. Never spent a penny on his PR.
If such a leader was in full majority, we actually would have progressed a lot. That time had flaws but it was a good period and people had hopes.
The Science of Living Longer
Lifestyle habits backed by hard data on longevity.
You don’t need any supplement or biohacks. You need to move, sleep, and work smartly.

Someone sneezed so I said bless you & then I sneezed literally a minute later & she didn’t say it back. Be careful out there guys there’s a lot of evil spirited people walking among us in society
Did @nsitharaman just say "Due to the paper leak, the children got even more time to study so that they could perform better". …?
Honestly this entire Cabinet should resign.
I have had many embarassing moments as a young adult, but nearly nothing as an adult, except this person as the leader of my country. Any true empathetic educated leader would listen to the students, overhaul the medical education exams, improve the curriculum, stop spreading pseudoscience into schools, colleges and institutes, remove the incompetent minister, compensate families of students who died by suicide. Seriously, no one really cares about these silly social media metrics, dumdums.
THIS IS SO BAD…
There’s one ingredient hiding in most protein powders that’s worse than sugar.
It spikes your blood sugar, fuels cravings, and destroys your gut health.
Here’s what it is and why it’s dangerous: 🧵
