@svan81@pureMetatron Helen may have little page time, but the Odyssey follows the Iliad, and she is central to the war that sets Odysseus’s entire journey in motion. A short appearance doesn’t make her insignificant. By that logic, Sauron is insignificant in LOTR as he barely appears in the pages.
@svan81@pureMetatron Minor character???
She was literally the cause of the Trojan War, the main event narrated in the Iliad, which can be considered to all intents and purposes the "prequel" of the Odyssey.
Everything you see in the movie happens because of what happens in the Iliad! Because of her!
@HomerPavlos And the funniest part is that the main target tend to be Greeks, which historically should be one of their "strongest allies" since they were very open minded and way ahead of their times in terms of world view, especially in regards of homosexuality and cultural differences.
@McNuggetron007@PaulTassi By reshaping a foundational Greek work around modern American sensibilities: the casting of Helen, contemporary dialogue and aesthetics, and treating fidelity to the source’s cultural context as disposable while broadly dismissing objections as racism or transphobia.
It feels like 2013 all over again.
Except now the in-game graphics looks even better than the original CGI, and It’s insane if you think about it, I can’t believe how far we came.
This trailer is legendary, I watched the original so many times. 🏴☠️❤️
And here it is! The Horizon Launch Trailer, remade for 2026.
The horizon belongs to those bold enough to chase it. Set your course in the Caribbean, defy the tide, and claim the freedom waiting beyond the waves.
@AlexRen98@assassinscreed Completely different situation. CDPR is mainly a Polish studio, and both the studio itself and the source material behind its biggest games are much more culturally rooted and popular in Eastern Europe. Similar to Metro, it makes way more sense for them to invest in those markets
@Shadowgodkill3@assassinscreed It was never black.
In the original you could unlock the first one that was brown, the outfit was literally named "Brown coat".
After a bit you could also unlock the "Pirate coat" outfit where the coat was black but it had a skull behind it and a "leathery" look.
@EvilRustedMetal@assassinscreed In 12-hour time, 12 AM means midnight of the same day, so 07/09 at 12 AM = 00:00 on July 9, not July 10.
So console players get the game 16 hours earlier than PC.
"Favoritism at its finest I guess", yes, towards the consoles tho.
@FinnMcRaven@BattlefieldComm Idk about camos, but unlocks and upgrades definitely did become a lot faster.
Especially the first 15-20 levels of a gun literally fly by.
I remember at launch being able to do at max 1 level and a half per Rush/Conq game, now I’m doing always 3-4 weapon levels per round.
@lcielia Yes, FNC tended to lean towards that especially in the latest two games, but maybe it used to be more “under control” lets say ahaha don’t get me wrong, I love Nomura, but I also love the original Versus XIII concept and Idk if he can manage to pull it off nowdays.
@lcielia Yeah but if you think of any other recent Nomura project, it really seems to me that he’s way too into this kind of stuff, and so I think that any of it’s project will go sideways if he’s left “unsupervised”. Kind of reminds me of Kojima with the DS 2 situation ahaha
Dear fans of Final Fantasy Versus XIII / FFXV
Today, we have a real opportunity to make our voices heard.
If we ever want to see a remake of Final Fantasy XV directed by Nomura, so that he can finally tell the true story of Noctis and Stella, then we must act together.
This petition is one of the real ways to support this request. It represents one voice among thousands, all united by the same wish: to see Nomura finally tell the true story of Noctis and Stella.
And this is not just an online petition.
Every year, in November, it is physically sent to Square Enix by @Reboot_Versus in Japan.
This gives it a symbolic and tangible weight that no ordinary petition has.
That is why every signature matters.
That is why every share matters.
We must spread it everywhere we can to give it the widest possible reach.
More than ever, we must stay united and determined to make our voice heard, and perhaps one day finally discover the true story of Noctis and Stella after 20 years of waiting.

It has now been 20 years.
On May 8, 2006, Square Enix announced an ambitious project at E3: Fabula Nova Crystallis. Among these titles, one in particular left a lasting impression: Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which later became Final Fantasy XV. This project had a profound impact on me, to the point that no other has been able to match it, nor will any ever be able to match it for me.
At the time, this project appeared as something deeply different, with a unique vision: a darker atmosphere, a distinctive artistic direction, a world based on our reality, a more mature identity, and a promise of emotion and cinematic presentation rarely seen before.
Over time, this game became much more than just a highly anticipated title. It transformed into a work that I perceive as an ideal, a form of perfect vision in its creative intent. Even though the project underwent many evolutions and changes over the years, what struck me at the beginning remains intact in my mind: a strong, coherent, and profoundly singular direction.
I am deeply attached to Final Fantasy Versus XIII / the Nomura version of Final Fantasy XV, for what it originally represented: its characters, Noctis and his companions, Stella, its iconic locations such as Insomnia, Altissia, and Tenebrae, as well as its music, notably “Somnus,” among others. It is this initial version, this original concept imagined by Nomura for the artistic direction, characters, world, and story, by Nojima for the writing, then enriched by Roberto Ferrari through character designs such as Arden, that continues to resonate within me as something precious and unique.
This is why I feel a very strong attachment to this original identity, as well as a reluctance toward any transformation in any form. For me, it is not simply another project among others, but a work in its own right, which deserves to be regarded with respect for what it originally embodied.
That is why I wholeheartedly wish for Square Enix to create a remake of Final Fantasy XV, developed by Creative Studio I, directed by Nomura with Nojima on the script, so that Nomura can finally tell the true story of Noctis and Stella, and so that all fans of FF Versus XIII / FFXV can finally experience the Final Fantasy they have cherished for so long and have been waiting for for two decades.
