@Shamaboy11 It’s really not bad. Freeze with blizzard, do a regular combo to make it drop mp orbs while it’s stuck, then thunder into blizzard to shock then freeze again to reset the freeze timer, regular combo again to make it drop orbs, repeat

@KhayyaamButt If drive is the resource you want to use, I think being in MP charge is the perfect reason to skip RCs cuz you get it back that much faster by using regular attacks in that state. If I’m cocky I might use Cure off rip in a fight despite being full specifically for the drive boost

@KhayyaamButt That’s not optimizing combat encounters, which is what I mentioned and what that whole limit>ether/drive>limit thing you said was, that’s optimizing the frequency of use of one specific mechanic, not even anything about how that mechanic actually helps in battle

@KhayyaamButt How’s that optimization? I said RCs don’t build drive so avoiding RCs lets you use them more & I said using drive a lot is how I play, didn’t say it was optimal. Optimal for using drives a lot I guess, but again who said using drives as often as possible is optimal play

@KhayyaamButt Limit Form won’t level unless you use Limits, which sparkle ray and *rising sun* are not, just RCs, so you don’t get form exp that way
I never mentioned challenge anyway, I’m not playing KH2 for it to kill me nor for me to absolutely optimize every combat encounter

@KhayyaamButt Maybe for *an* enemy, but a lot of RCs like berserk, dual stance, sparkle ray, can kill a lot of enemies. Even just looking at the battle of 1k heartless, a single Vicinity Break gives a ton of meter because of the amount of enemies around

@KhayyaamButt Literally can’t do that in the Hades chase as drive is locked off, in agrabah you likely only have Valor/Wisdom so you still have a party member around that could die, theres always a chance you’ll go Anti instead until TWTNW, it’s not as cut and dry as you’re trying to make it

@KhayyaamButt Mentioned it in another part of the thread but RCs also don’t give drive, im someone who likes to use forms a lot, using an RC(esp ones that can kill a buncha mooks at once) might not be my priority cuz that’s a bunch of drive meter I could be gaining if I kill them normally

@KhayyaamButt If they’re among other enemies, or if there’s 2 of em like right near the end of that Cerberus path, I might want to play it safe. Allies need to be alive for you to use their limits or your drive forms or healing abilities or items you put them

@KhayyaamButt Them prioritizing Sora doesn't at all mean your allies can't get hit by it if they're between it & Sora, especially in tight corridors like the path back up the underworld to the cerberus boss, and definitely if you're fighting from afar with blizzard or thunder

@KhayyaamButt The full sequence is Block>Kickback>Full Swing, and during the Large Body’s slide your allies are completely vulnerable to getting hit by it so it benefits you to avoid getting to that point altogether

@KhayyaamButt @NMageknight14 Soldier’s RC occurs when it uses a specific attack but that attack occurs after if flinches like 3/4 times & if you aren’t prepared for it Sora’ll stagger cuz that attack makes it invincible, which can catch an inexperienced player off guard if they expected to flinch it again

@NMageknight14 Personally I use Drive as much as I can as I play the story, try to level the forms up without having to go out of my way to grind them, which means I don’t always have enough Drive in cases where it could save my ass

@NMageknight14 Yes, prolly cuz you aren’t always usin em cuz you have options that incur other risks(getting hit) that you choose to use over MP/Drive, so when there’s a scenario where you want to use them you can. That’s 1 way of thinking about your resources, 1 other players might not choose

@NMageknight14 If you don’t go into every fight expecting to kill it with a limit then pop a whole elixir or use Drive just for the refresh or sit there and wait for your mp to charge before heading to the next one, yeah you’re prolly gonna have to think about how you use your stuff

@NMageknight14 Not fully true, don’t get Drive from RCs vs regular attacks/magic & need to put yourself in danger for a number of them(finisher RCs require you GET TO the finisher, block ones require timing, all among crowds of mooks) vs using say magnet/limits/summons(safe but resource cost)
