The techniques are what’s horrible (especially in the automotive industry!). The counter point to what you said is that poor techniques get used over and over again and measurement, as inaccurate as it is, especially in CRM software, exacerbates the situation.
Our approach is to strip all the bad habits and reformulate based on proven methods and actual tracked results.
