What began as an emergency journey home from Delhi to Srinagar on 20 June turned into a life threatening ordeal through your platform. This was my first experience with BlaBlaCar and unfortunately it will also be my last unless meaningful action is taken.

What would they have done at midnight stranded on a highway with an intoxicated driver? Money is secondary human lives are not. Carpooling cannot come at the cost of passenger safety. I expect BlaBlaCar to thoroughly investigate this incident.

For our own survival I had to take over driving from Chandigarh all the way to Srinagar nearly 600 kilometers while the driver slept in an intoxicated state.
I keep asking myself what if the passengers had been a woman travelling alone, a family with children or elderly people?

The driver not only demanded fares significantly higher than the amount displayed on the app and intimidated passengers into paying extra but he also appeared to consume intoxicants during the journey became heavily impaired, and lost the ability to drive safely.
