@Euglossine@WizardKQ@alex_avoigt True, but he did went too aggressive with selling. Maybe he just wanted to fund his foundations or didn't believe in significant Microsoft growth. Market cap stagnation during Balmer era didn't help either I guess. He could have sold lot slowly and enjoyed a great lifestyle
@dailyXmatter @WizardKQ@alex_avoigt He allocated that capital via his investment company, Cascade. It did grow and made good returns but nothing close to Microsoft's growth in the Satya Nadella era.
@WizardKQ@alex_avoigt Just to be clear, even after handing it over to Balmer, he kept selling shares. Currently he does not own more than a 1% of msft shares. Maybe he didn't believe if Msft shares could grow significantly or he thought, he could get better returns by selling and diversifying.
@WizardKQ@alex_avoigt Just after the Microsoft IPO, bill owned around 45%. He kept selling shares, at the time he left Microsoft as CEO and handed over charge to Balmer, bill owned around 20%. If he had kept all his shares after ipo, he would have been a trillionaire.
@TheGregYang Hey @TheGregYang, how are you able to absorb such a wide range of mathematical disciplines. It looks like an average person like me would take many lifetimes to cover all of that. Any tips on becoming a better learner.
@RobWoodWasHere@ausnotes @eddiecranswick Haha, I am back in machine learning and hardware. No comedy for a while. Can't feed wife and daughter on leftover pizza
