State gives back virtually nothing to the salaried class. I pay for my family healthcare, security and education, like every salaried class taxpayer. I pay toll tax on use of road, like every salaried class person. I also pay mandatory Rs1 on every small and large purchase that goes to private account of FBR and is used for welfare of FBR officers! I represent poor salaried class that paid Rs606 billion last year and Rs315 b so far in this fiscal year.

I have made an attempt to calculate the Total Economic Tax Burden of various countries and compared it with Pakistan.

You can see we have put our citizens under crushing burden of taxes and inflation.

And I think extortion is both for corporate and for salaried individuals.
Let me tell you how.
Mid to high tier individuals are paying one third in income tax.
Then 17-18% on VAT for most of their expenses.
And their tax is on gross and doesn't exclude their expenses.
It makes it almost 50% and that too without super tax.

So extortion with a limited, law abiding community. They are paying price for being in formal documented work.
I see traders around enjoying much higher luxuries getting away with only 3-4% tax as they declare much less evade many venues.

This comparison clearly shows how unfairly Pakistan’s salaried class is taxed. At an equivalent income, Pakistan extracts the highest effective tax rate among the countries mentioned, despite providing little to no public services in return as compared to other countries in the table. While figures may vary slightly, the conclusion remains the same: the burden of revenue collection is placed squarely on the already struggling salaried class, because they are the easiest to tax. Instead of broadening the tax base, the state continues to squeeze documented, law-abiding earners—making Pakistan a leader not in welfare, but in over-taxing its poorest salaried citizens.

WOW!

The longer video in which Trump says Israel and Iran "don't know what the FUCK they are doing" is really important to watch.

He is really unhappy with Israel because as soon as a ceasefire was struck, Israel used the last hours of the war to massively attack Iran.

Then, one single missile from Iran appears to have been shot after the ceasefire - it landed nowhere and Trump says it may have been shot by mistake - and Israel is using it to restart the war and destroy the ceasefire Trump negotiated. And by that, also destroy Trump's credibility.

This is exactly what Israel did with all of the ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon. It treats all ceasefires as one-sided - the other side has to stop fighting, while Israel is above the law and above all ceasefires.

Trump is also starting to discover the core of the problem: ISRAEL DOESN'T WANT PEACE AND DOESN'T WANT TO ALLOW THE US TO STAY OUT OF THE WAR ISRAEL UNNECESSARILY STARTED.

If Trump wants peace and for the US and Iran to strike a deal, he has no choice but to FORCE Israel to accept that America has to put America first.

If he doesn't, Netanyahu will make sure that Trump puts Israel first and drags the US into an endless war with Iran.

There are no other choices.
