Great visit with @RepJoeCourtney (D-CT-2) touring IME member Detotec in CT.
Detotec’s Tim O’Brien shared insights on the impact of tariffs to the commercial explosives industry and industries we support.
We sincerely thank Congressman Courtney for visiting with our members.

IME applauds the U.S. House for passing H.R. 4776, the #SPEEDAct. This critical legislation strengthens U.S. supply chains, bolsters our economy, and supports long-term industrial and defense readiness. We urge the Senate to act swiftly. @RepWesterman@RepGolden@NatResources
IME urges the U.S. House to pass the #PERMITAct. These long-overdue Clean Water Act permitting reforms will boost transparency, streamline investment, and strengthen American energy and infrastructure—made possible by commercial explosives. @TransportGOP@RepMikeCollins
IME applauds @NatResources for marking up the SPEED Act. Modernizing NEPA is essential to strengthening our supply chains and ensuring U.S. industrial and defense readiness. Congress must keep this momentum going. Thank you @RepWesterman@RepGolden

Government shutdowns lead to delays for @ATFHQ required permits & background checks for the commercial explosives industry - slowing construction, mining, & energy. IME calls on Congress & the Administration to work together to pass legislation to prevent a government shutdown.
President Trump is actively working to unleash American energy. Commercial explosives companies are critical to achieving energy independence.
Today, I had the opportunity to visit the U.S. Silica Quarry in Ottawa to hear about the work they are doing and the economic impact they are having throughout #IL16 and across the country.
Today, we honor Saint Barbara, the Patron Saint of explosives, artillery, and miners. She has been a symbol of protection for more than 60,000 workers in the U.S. handling commercial explosives daily. May her legacy continue inspiring safety, security, and stewardship.
We’re grateful for the leadership of @SenatorWicker, @SenatorTester, @SenatorFischer, and @SenAngusKing to get this bill passed in the Senate. We urge House leadership to act quickly to pass this commonsense legislation before the 118th Congress adjourns.

More than a dozen companies were recognized at the Institute of Makers of Explosives's (IME) annual meeting. The organization awarded its Safety & Health Certificates of Excellence, as well as its Tricia Appleton Award for Safety. #blasting#aggregates https://t.co/DNTVRqlqpm
This year, the Tricia Appleton Award was given to companies with zero recordable #safety incidents the previous year. Congratulations to Enaex, Maxam North America, Senex Explosives, EBV Explosives, Detotec North America, and Contract Drilling & Blasting.
Without truck drivers transporting commercial explosives in all 50 states, critical infrastructure projects including mining, quarrying, construction, and energy production would not be possible.

Today, we honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on this day 23 years ago. We will never forget the courage of our first responders, the strength of survivors, and the unity that brought us together in the face of tragedy.
