Today I have shamefully witnessed the persecution of a cricketer, and more importantly, a young man with his whole life ahead of him. And over what? A meaningless game of cricket. Including some in both the Pakistani and English media who’ve blatantly jumped on the body-shaming bandwagon. Oh, let's not forget the nepotism accusations, while outlets conveniently forget the very infrastructure and manner in which their own government is formed.

I am quite sure that hardened criminals and looters haven't had to endure the amount of abuse that Azam Khan has experienced since yesterday. And it's truly pathetic, coming from people who have no real cricketing acumen. Yes, he has a problem, and he knows it; his coaches know it, and it falls upon him and them to take the necessary action.

By all means, criticize performance, but tweeting to abuse and ridicule just showcases one's inability to criticize constructively. Those who know me know I don't do favourites; never have never will, however I will call out blatant bullying. I criticize proportionally and never get personal. In a few short weeks, these same hypocrites will most likely be cheering him on. Show some humanity - it's a game of cricket, it's not as if he started World War 3.
