Stop treating your losses like a mystery 📉
Most traders end their Friday feeling like they had "bad luck." But "bad luck" isn't a data point. You can't fix "bad luck"
To turn a mystery into a fixable problem, you must categorize your mistakes into 3 specific buckets:
1. Strategic ErrorsYou followed the plan. The setup simply failed
The Fix: Nothing. This is the cost of doing business. Accept it and move on
2. Execution ErrorsYou saw the setup. You hesitated. You chased. You entered late
The Fix: Drill your entries. Use hard stops. Stop overthinking the trigger
3. Psychological ErrorsRevenge trading. FOMO. Oversizing because you "felt" a move coming.
The Fix: This isn't a strategy issue. It’s an emotional regulation issue
The Weekend Exercise:Take your 5 biggest losses from this week. Tag them in your journal
If 80% fall into Bucket #3, you don't need a new strategy. You need better discipline.
The bottom line: You can’t fix what you don’t measure
Review your data today so you don't repeat the same mystery on Monday ☕️

Individual human beings have to suffer their karmas but Isvara manages to make the best of their karmas for His purpose.
God manipulates the fruits of karma.; He does not add or take away from it. The subconscious of man is a warehouse of good and bad karma. Isvara chooses from this warehouse what He sees will best suit the spiritual evolution at the time of each man whether pleasant or painful. Thus there is nothing arbitrary.

Trading psychology is one of those topics that’s endlessly debated. Plenty of people dismiss it outright and insist it doesn’t matter. For me, it’s been one of the biggest drivers of my success. Once you’ve come across strategies with real alpha, the challenge shifts from discovery to preservation. This means maintaining that edge and knowing when to press the gas and when to let off the gas. That ultimately comes down to statistically grounded evidence paired with psychological discipline in your process especially during the bad times.
I’ve been obsessed with this game for more than 15 years. And have practically dedicated my life to the art of what it is. That obsession shows up in the small, often unglamorous things I do to make sure I’m operating at my best when it counts.
Those “small things” include constantly reviewing strategy performance, spending time on idea generation and optimization, digging into alternative data sources, and revisiting old edges and understanding why they stopped working and what conditions might bring them back. It also means going to conferences, understanding who’s doing what and why, identifying the top players in the space and studying their behavior/ tendencies/ thought process, and just as importantly, understanding what the weakest players are doing and where and why they tend to fail.
Some of the external aspects may sound like cliché fitness/ health -social media nonsense (which is why I’m hesitant to share them), but it’s hard to argue that you can consistently make sound, second by second decisions involving hundreds of millions of dollars while running on two hours of sleep. There is a point of optimality that you can bring your mind and body to.
The broader point is simple, in any serious craft, success comes from the work you put in outside of the baseline effort that everyone else is willing to do. Baseline efforts will always yield baseline results.
Zanger was another one of Qullamaggie’s mentors.
This interview was insightful to capture some of his mindset and thought process. Good listen.

One common reason why traders blow up is because of poor position sizing. In other words, how much do you bet on a trade.
You can be right on direction 60% of the time and still lose everything if you size your positions poorly. One oversized trade can wipe out months of gains. This is why position sizing is a big part of risk management.
@mysandz recently spoke to Tom Basso, one of the original Market Wizards, to discuss his approach to trading. I was listening to the interview and the one thing that stood out to me was how Tom's thinking on position sizing evolved over decades.
He started simple: risk the same percentage of equity on every trade, inspired by Larry Hite's philosophy that every bet should be equal in terms of potential loss.
But then came a silver trade with explosive volatility. Clients were calling, nervous about the wild swings. So he realized it wasn't just about the amount you could lose—it was also about the speed of movement. High volatility creates psychological stress that leads to poor decisions.
So he added a second layer: volatility as a percentage of equity. Now he'd calculate both risk % and volatility %, then take the smaller of the two.
Then came the third refinement: margin-to-equity ratios. Some markets have deceptively low risk and volatility but require high margin because of sudden jump risk. By incorporating all three factors, he never got caught overexposed.
The result was a position sizing system that automatically scales down when markets get too volatile, protects against margin squeezes, and keeps portfolio risk in check. It's really interesting conversation. Link to the full interview is in the comments.
Every single day we must live and work with a sense of urgency.
An urgency to be our best TODAY!
An urgency to be our happiest TODAY!
An urgency to take the actions necessary TODAY to live the life we want TOMORROW!
Working under me was like bootcamp. We were going to do everything in our power to all make it to the other side of the learning curve.
That meant giving your all every single day from the second you walked in to the office to the second you left. No phone, no Netflix, just productive focus.
The Parable of the Two Arrows
Buddha said:
When an untrained mind experiences pain, it is like being hit by two arrows.
Arrow 1: The unavoidable pain
This is the thing that happens to you.
The event.
The loss.
The setback.
The uncomfortable emotion.
You can’t avoid this arrow.
It’s part of life.
Arrow 2: The suffering you create
This is everything your mind adds on top.
• Overthinking
• Self-criticism
• Worry
• “Why me?”
• “I always mess up”
• Shame
• Fear of the future
• Emotional spirals
The second arrow hurts far more than the first.
And unlike the first arrow…
you don’t have to shoot it.
Why it’s powerful
The teaching shows:
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Not because the pain goes away, but because you can choose not to add layers of mental suffering on top of it.
In trading, it’s basically this:
Arrow 1: A losing trade.
Normal. Part of the game. No one escapes it.
Arrow 2:
• “I’m stupid”
• “I should have known”
• Revenge trading
• Breaking rules
• Doubting your system
• Emotional spiral
• Overtrading
• Trying to win it back
Most traders don’t blow up from Arrow 1.
They blow up from Arrow 2.
Your job isn’t to avoid losing trades etc.
Your job is to avoid shooting the second arrow at yourself.
🧵 VIRAL THREAD: The Siddha Mantra that Transforms Health, Fortune & Inner Joy
When life feels heavy and the mind feels scattered—remember: Divine energy is always one mantra away.
The ancient sages knew this… and documented it in the Durga Saptashati, the ultimate source of Shakti.
Qullamaggie's opening range highs / opening range break concept was dervied from fund manager Toby Crabel.
Qullamaggie talked about him in a stream once - "I got opening range highs concept from this fund manager who made a billion dollars just trading opening range highs. Toby Crabel I think was his name."
Pradeep Bonde / Stockbee, Qullamaggie's mentor also has multiple tweets and threads on Crabel.
Crabel's book "Day Trading With Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout" sells for multiple $100s, sometimes thousands online in used and new conditions. One of the most expensive trading books out there for good reason.
Here are a few great takeaways from his work:
"A cumulative total of Gross Profits for the contraction patterns vs. expansion patterns on trades in the direction of the move off the open showed $710,000 for contractions on 7,313 trades and $102,000 for expansions on 7,524 trades. Profits were 7x larger for ORB trades after contractions than expansions." - Crabel
"In general the earlier in the session the entry is taken the better the chance for success. In fact, the ideal is an entry within the first ten minutes of the session. In that case an immediate continuation in the direction of the breakout is likely." - Crabel
"The Contraction/Expansion Principle states that the market is constantly changing from a period of movement to a period of rest and back to a period of movement. This interchange between the phases of motion and rest is constantly taking place.” - Crabel
In summary, data backs that breakouts and range expansions follow periods of low volatility.
The earlier we can take our trades the greater the probabilities, the lower the risk and thus greater the profits.
And the market continuously operates on the backbone of this compression into expansion principle.
Allowing us as traders to net profits by trading out of tight patterns, preferably on stocks with a reason to go up - whether it be fundamentals, a theme or story, or a news catalyst.
And utilizing opening range highs on gap ups for example to have tight stops and big winners that negate losers and leave us with net R (profits).
Hastarekha Mantra
KaraAgre Vasate Lakshmi,

Mangalam Kara-Darshanam ||
कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मीः करमध्ये सरस्वती ।
करमूले स्थिता गौरी, मंगलं करदर्शनम् ॥
On the tip of hand (fingers) resides Goddess Lakshmi, At the center of hand(palm) resides Goddess Saraswati
And at the base(wrist) of the hand sits Goddess Gowri, It is auspicious to look at the hands (at the beginning of the day) when we get up in the morning !
Traditional practice -
As soon as we wake up we need to look at our palm and visualize the three goddesses seated at different parts of the hand !
1- Visualize the image of Lakshmi Devi at the tip of the fingers,
2-Visualize the image of serene form of goddess Saraswathi at the center of the palm,
3-Finally imagine the powerful goddess gauri at the base of the hand (wrist region)!
By starting our day with the thoughts of three forms of the divine mother lalitambika has untold benefits !
